9070 (NOT the XT version)

Even original IGN article never said XT from what I saw.

Maybe the speculation is all wrong?

7900 XTX - No direct replacement in the range, in line with the "no high end card" statement.

7900 XT - replaced by the 9070 XT as a 5070 Ti competitor.

7900 GRE/7800 XT - replaced by the 9070 as a 5070 competitor.

7700 XT - replaced by the 9060 XT as a 5060 Ti competitor.

7600 XT - replaced by the 9060 as a 5060 competitor.

The naming would make a lot sense if that were true TBF.

Will say the screenshot doesn't give a great view of the card, but looks like its just 2 power connectors. So likely not a 3rd party xt as many of those seem to have 3

Notebook check has tested BO6 on 7900XT and got same performance as IGN on the 9070 non XT

So 9070 = 7900XT

And 9070XT = ?

Changing the naming schemes last gen is now confusing these new cards expected performance. You'd expect this gens second tier cards to be around last gen high end if they were going to do a high end this time around, but they're not. So going by that logic, 9070XT should be around 7900XTX.

Can only hope :D

The real reviews cant come soon enough, for both sides lol

The 5070ti is like £750,so I can't see them pricing it £200+ lower,but we'll see

I wonder if the reason AMD chickened out of announcing at CES was because they got rumours the much vaunted Nvidia Blackwell performance was all smoke and mirrors 4x fake frens nonsense.

So they are going to raise the prices of the RX 9070?

Real frames at real prices*

* the above post is pure sarcasm and not to be taken seriously. ;)

its pretty nailed on they got wind of NVidias numbers and walked away to optimise more and save margins, but obviously thats my opinion:)

In terms of transistors this could be as almost as much as Navi31! Maybe the performance is a better than we expected - it would explain the AIB partner designs!
I imagine those AIB designs with 3x8pin and 300W+ TDP are gonna be clocked to the balls. If the stock boost is around 3GHz, we could see the OC versions with 3.3 or 3.4GHz. At those speeds it would be zero surprise if it could hit 7900XTX performance.

Maybe AMD just finally let them fully unleash the GPUs unlike with RDNA3 where they were all held back through the power limits.

All comes down to final performance results, and pricing. Anyone making a decision on what to buy without those is making a bad decision :)
I've had both AMD and Nvidia over the years (amongst others...), whoever makes the best card for the price I'm willing to pay gets the cash, simples, my 3080 10GB is starting to feel like a bit of a restriction at 1440p in some titles and I'd like to replace it.

I've got no qualms going either direction, and if people buy Nvidia BECAUSE or AMD BECAUSE, you're doing yourself a disservice. Good releases should be rewarded with sales, bad ones should languish on sale until the pricing/product is revised to the point its no longer a bad release.

CoD games are AMD optimised games, this has been known forever.

^^^^

CoD is strong with AMD, so do remember that.

7800 XT is = to a 4070 Ti Super, you don't see that anywhere else... its one of very few games that are AMD optimised.

And as i have said, the interesting part is that the 7900xtx also gets high 90s in that bench mark. So pls ignore how the nvidia cards perform in black ops 6, it doesn't matter. If the 9070xt performs similarly to the 7900xtx in this game means it likely will in others.

Didn't IGN test the 9070 none XT?
