*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

Its what everyone does, no one sits and watches hours of review videos on review day and they know it, people just want to know what the verdict is.
Umm, is it just me then? :p

I have to watch several reviews and read several reviews and read this forum (and reddit) and so on...

Otherwise I could miss something important

Actually everyone listens like a podcast to GN, HUB, Wendell, Ian Cutress and servethehome while reading phoronix. I know it's true because that's what I do and I'm the main character.

The 5070ti was the card I was the most hyped about, I saw the little crumbs that AMD were dropping when the 9070 was announced but never peaked any interest.

Now a week later, the 50 series is looking to be overpriced "shocker" and the gains from the 40 series looks minimal on pure performance, unless you use DLSS 4.

Info has been slowly leaking on the AMD 90's and all of a sudden they have gained some traction and looks to be the better mid range option, All AMD now have to do is get the pricing right and the market is theirs.

Nvidia always claw it back when they lose ground by releasing the same card with a speed bump, they did it when the 7800xt was eating the 4070. Amd should release the 9070 first at the lowest price they can go to, Nvidia will be forced to adjust if it's as good or better than the 5070 and and they can then swoop in for the kill with the xt. They won't however ofc and Nvidia will find a way to win the battle of the 70's

If cards are arriving at retailers (according to VideoCardz) then would the retailers have taken them without knowing what price they're supposed to sell them for?

Danish and Israeli retailers have some in stock, apparently. Rumours of a release on the 24th, with the reveal two days earlier.

Nvidia have now confirmed that the 5070 Ti & 5070 are only 20% Faster Than 4070 Ti & 4070.
Surely AMD can't miss this open goal now can they?

I have heard this before.

Many times...

For context it was a stupid purchase because I had an RX6800

Ah, makes sense. Got one for my wife (upgrade for a 3060 Ti which was struggling with Fallout 76) and it's been pretty great.

I gave my stuff to my girlfriend

Yeah you did ;)

(Sorry :p:D)

Been saying it since the announcement - Nvidia are giving us shrinkflation this generation. Everyone expected the prices to go up. Instead Nvidia cut the prices vs 4000-series launch. At that moment, I think we all knew something was up...

"Shrinkflation" is a great term to use. The thing is though, I don't think most people realize that! Certainly not if you leave the nerd forums and look out in the wild. NV's branding tomfoolery will work...

And, by extension, AMD are also a party to this (by positioning their 70 series against the "fake" 70 series).

I click on HUB videos just to downvote them. most of them are bloody awful.

Say more?

It is obvious that Nvidia have dropped the real 5080 and lifted the stack up a tier. Then cut prices slightly and people are thinking “yay price cut”. I think they have played an absolute blinder in how they continually dry hump the willing victims.

I bet I end up with a 5080 at some point :)

Now we wait until AMD decides they can price between the 5070Ti and the 5070.

£700 for the 9070 XT
£600 for the 9070

“We aren’t the value brand anymore”

This is exactly where I'm at

That said, this whole gen looks better if you're not the type to upgrade every gen. Not that it bodes well for the future. You might have to wait a decade to get a 50% performance bump if this carries on!
