*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

thats the red devil not the hell hound though, hell hound *looks like it might have a bigger more open vent area but Im probably really wrong.

The grim reality (as far as competitiveness goes) is that those 20 5090s offset, profit wise, the 105 * 9070XT, so do the other nvidia cards sold on a glance, so nvidia still outsold AMD, one can say

LE: lol, just saw your username, pun not intended :) but a happy coincidence

Outsold? No.
Outprofittededednessess? Maybe.

I mentioned this in the owners thread, but watching a few comparison videos over the last few weeks, the frametime blips on Nv cards are much more pronounced than on AMD equivalents, even if fps highs and lows are superior. You may be onto something there with the driver overhead angle.
Maybe it's SAM doing it's thing, the Nvidia version is mostly turned off isn't it?

Is it me or has the hype died down now? Even my FOMO has evaporated.

Would only get a msrp model now and I suspect there will be a few in a month. Even then I would be hard pushed to say I need a card to play games as that happens anyway at high settings on my current card.

I don’t use even FSR 3.1 in any games and push decent fps. Also why don’t people use AFMF to double their frame rates rather than using FSR? Surely that would prolong the life of most cards negating the need to upgrade till ages later?

I’ve used AFMF in Spider-Man remastered to push 150-180fps at Max Settings at 1440p and I don’t see any image or input deterioration- it looks sweet to my eyes.

I played F1 2024 on my RX6800 the other night and it Ran absolutely fine. My desire for a new GPU is diminishing by the day.

Agree the 6800 should last another 2 or 3 years at decent fps.

Even the FSR4 hype seems to be just that, not needed any upscaling in my games (Indy Jones on supreme 90-100fps, COD on native extreme setting pushing 147fps, Spider-Man 70-80fps on Max with 16x Anistropic etc no framegen nor upscaling, only Avatar on Ultra needed framegen to get above 60fps).

Looking at 9070/XT maybe in 6 months with discounts to below msrp as even at msrp it’s not really that compelling anymore.

Those of us who were hyped to get one, have got one and are busy playing on it.
