Seen this posted on hardocp, if true what is the major difference that results in amd on paper being more powerful but not in practice. I can even remember back to the radoen 8500, that was meant to be a beast of a card but fell behind the competition.

1080TI - tflops = 11.3
Vega - tflops = 12.6

980TI - tflops = 5.63
Fury X - tflops = 8.7

780TI - tflops = 5.04
290x - tflops = 5.6

680 - tflops = 3.1
HD7970 - tflops = 3.8

Better to calculate flops rather than to use marketed ones, Nvidia always use the rated base or boost clocks when in fact they tend to go higher. the 1080Ti would actually be around 12.9-13.1 Tflops since they tend to run ~1800MHz. While vega will do 12.6 - 13.1 if it is hitting ~1550MHz. Vega FE was doing ~1440 MHz for 11.7 Tflops.

But then gaming performance is dependant on drivers and other hardware features in the architecture, some of which are not enabled yet in Vega FE.

Where was this taken from and why are some of the names missing the "2" is HMB2 whilst their product code says "HBM2"? Seems very bogus.
It's not bogus but the prices look odd - the limited edition is the same as the standard. They're from a UK supplier (can't mention the name as it's a competitor).

I paid 2.5btc for a Fury pro.

Not too bad but considering a good 1080 will score around 8k gfx on that bench and a good Ti will score around 11k.

It's still a way off considering it's rumoured price. There are other questions too like overclockability (is 1750mhz it's max OC?) and temps etc. Was this the liquid version?

Well i'm sure its the Liquid version remember FE overlock with LC on it ?? It was 17xxrange also and at that overclock it was what ?? ~440 watts power draw....

Somewhat worried tho for Vega's big features. HBCC, FP16 and DSBR. If these don't get any traction amongst Devs then it's gonna contain a lot if redundant hardware.

Equally if these do so development by Devs in games, where does this leave Nvidia?

A) They are the biggest player in the PC market. Will leave a lot of players in the lurch. And do Devs want to do that.

B) I'd imagine it's WAY to late for Nvidia to get any of this stuff in to consumer Volta if they wanted. You would think this is Nvidia's issue not AMD's but as Nvidia own the PC market with out Nvidia supporting these features it's only ever going to be niche and in a few games surely?
