Just managed to order my 3070 Vision OC Ampere, with granted delivery tomorrow. Anyone having this iteration? How are the thermals / sound of fans?

What kind of boost clocks are people seeing when overclocked? My FE is hitting just under 2ghz stock, upping the power target seems to not make much difference.

RAM can go +1000 no sweat.

That's about right for FE, at 117% limit I get around 2.1GHz with my Palit. They all seem to hang around 1900-2200, depending on how much you can open up the power limit in the vbios and the cooling solution. Vast majority seem to be 1950 to 2050, regardless of the model.

Looks like the other way round. Flashed an FE bios onto a AIB card.

Interesting. I have an FE and maybe this suggests you can put an AIB bios on it. Maybe not but I am interested in looking into it.

I really want a 3070 but it seems impossible to get hold of one at a decent price. Is it a case of just keep checking the site for stock? Can you sign up for email alerts?

I just watched the nvidia site for stock drops. Bagged a 3070FE a week after launch.

In the first few weeks stock was direct from Nvidia. Now FEs are sold by that single 3rd party store only in the UK. Stock pops up infrequently.

The FE card on nvidia shop. Usually there's one drop of stock per week. You get about half an hour to bag one after a drop.

Looks like undervolting is the way forwards with the 3070, going to give it a go tonight as I'm constantly running into the cards power limit.

Tried undervolting using the frequency voltage curve and the results are impressive.

Currently running 1900mhz core 8100mhz (+1100mhz) RAM with only 0.85v and barely hitting 60 degrees.

Going to slowly tweak back towards 2ghz.

Edit - 1950 at 0.9v looks stable.

What is your power limit set to? I found that stock voltage with max power gave me stable 2150 peak, 2050 after thermal soak. Dropping voltage would nerf the boost as heat built up, I suspect that as the internal resistance went up with temperature, the card couldn't get enough current; remember the gates are current driven. You could easily see that as a regression in my Port Royal / TSpy scores, despite higher max boost initially, the overall scores were lower.
