This is the reply i got from Palit CS:

I believe the Card going over 60W is whats causing the annoyance... dunno why they didnt just have the 150W to begin with?

Yes it seems so, how well it works we won't know till we try it. I'll keep an eye out on the bios update and test it when its released.

Edit: Actually maybe not as im slapping a waterblock on it shortly

People who have started receiving their Founders Editions did you all manage to bag on eon release day and they are just coming now, or did you just get lucky and pick one up from the site when the "in stock" label showed?

Still can't get my Zotac to crash.

It's running quite happy with 50/500 oc and boosts to 2055.

Tomorrow is last day under CCR for a no quibble refund and still have a day one TUF OC ordered at a place near me.

Do I believe the internet hype and ditch this card?

Have played about 18h of Assassins Creed Odyssey, few hours of FH4 and countless benchmarks and the thing just won't die. Anything else I try to make this fall over to sway my decision?

Can someone with a TUF do me a huge favour and measure how much the backplate adds above the pcb. So that would be top of the pcb to top of the backplate of the card. Preferably at the mounting end. My board has an IO block quite close to my current card which doesn't have a backplate. It should be fine as I have about 7mm clearance currently and from a review, the guy's ruler shows about 4mm. @FlyingFish @Sparx

@SeeNoWeevil can't find my tape measure, but I'd be fairly confident it'll fit in 7mm gap. It's quite thin and 4mm looks about right.

For the FE owners, has anyone been able to source a 12pin power connector for their PSU instead of using the adapter?

Dont worry, if it works fine and you are happy keep it, the internutz made a storm in a D cup

On the other hand, The Asus is probably the best cooled card out there, so if thats important keep that one and return the other.

I hovered over the EVGA cable but then came to my senses; $40 is a joke. Also, in my case it is a pain to swap the modular cables so sticking with standard cables seems a better idea until the day all cards use the new connector.

I just updated to the new BIOS listed on their website and the card is now silent under general use.
