The Ampere RTX 3080 Owners Thread

All aboard! Arrived today, didn't think it was that big until I put it next to my 2080ti once I'd put the cooler back on and then even more so when I tried to place it on the case the it was so long it hit the CPU loop. Quick bodge of cutting a pipe a few mm shorter to squeeze it in, will do until the EKWB arrives and get both loops back up. Performance is amazing! Fully realised the potential of my LG CX48

My current driver for my 2070 super is the same driver as the 3080. If I’m doing a straight swap, would I still have to uninstall and reinstall drivers, or could I just swap the cards?

Top be safe just unintall and reinstall drivers, buit probably no need.

I always just to a fresh install of Windows as it is super quick these days and nice to have a fresh system. Good opportunity to back stuff up too.

My zotac arrived today but geez why is it so noisy? It sounds like a jet engine. The GPU temp is 76-77 degrees, which I believe is below the ideal temperature. Any help folks? Or are these just very noisy?

Wow, I’m yet to see my gigabyte master go over 67c

I should say that was when I had assassins creed origins running. Could vary game to game, but it is noisy. When I shut the game down it quietens and goes back down to like 51 degrees.
