The Ampere RTX 3080 Owners Thread

Probably clutching at straws here, anyone running any sort of 3080 inside a Corsair 240 air? Trying to stay with an itx build but struggling even with a 1080ti as I can't shut the windowed side panel cause of the bulky cooler and pci cables.

I will be testing this with my Palit 3080 after work tomorrow.
My current KFA2 1080TI fits inside the Air 240 perfectly fine, you just can't buy tall cards
 
Could someone with a 3080 that runs 3440x1440 try this please.

Install Quake II RTX from Steam (its free)

Change settings to not scale resolution, global illumination high
Ideally screenshoot or write down other settings used
3440x1440 res

Tilde to open console
Timedemo 1
Demo demo 1

What fps?

Interested to see how it stacks up against 2080Ti as it’s the only full path traced game so far I believe.

Overclock it and run the same, how much more fps?

I tried it and didn't find the problem you mentioned.
If you have access to another computer, try swapping the graphics card and test the card to see if you can reproduce the same issue. Maybe you can swap with a friend or relative.
Or Please reinstall your system and install the latest driver. Will this problem still occur?

line 1: Really ? I looked at the photo he sent and they hadnt applied the custom profile as it had a minimum speed of 40% and the monitor graph shows fan at stop :p
Line 2: Err nope. I cant see why that would change anything TBH.
Line 3. Was a fresh install a week before the graphics card came.
Line 4 . No way hose, it works just fine otherwise and I don't want to be without a card again.

IMO they haven't understood my point, I will wait until a new bios, or fan controller that works properly is released ;)
But in the meantime I will follow up the email with my own pic and answers !

Yes there are a few, I suspect as been mentioned a combination of boost clocks pushing too far and some PSU not quite up to it.

I downloaded Warzone last night specifically to test, as that was a game that caused a few people issues. Apart from the nonsense I had to go through to get it (sign up to this account, and link to that account, give us your phone number etc etc) it played fine for me.
The only time I have had CTD is when playing with overclocks or undervolting too much while experimenting.
I have ran several benchies, stability tests and games over the last few days with no CTD while under stock clock/voltage settings.
 
I'm really surprised to see how few forums members actually have their hands on one yet... or perhaps they have no inclination join this list :(
 
Order confirmed and processing, expected tomorrow (hopefully) or early next week.

I'll edit with a picture of the card when it arrives, but needless to say I'm chuffed to have bagged one as the FE was all I was interested in. :)
