So this happened today.

In the flesh, it is almost too pretty to take apart and put an EK water block on it.

My FE turned up today! Out the box I got +157 using Nvidias performance tuner.

Well thanks to @cHk4, I now have a 3090 as well :). MSI Ventus X OC.

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your RTX 3090

Why that one and not the EK? I know the EK has heatpipes on the back plate.
Really? I may be being blind but not seen that on their website:
EK-Quantum Vector Strix RTX 3080/3090 Backplate - Nickel is a CNC machined retention backplate made from nickel-plated aluminum, that fits all EK-Quantum Vector Strix RTX 3070/3080/3090 water blocks.

The backplate covers the whole length of the graphics cards PCB, serves as an aesthetic add-on, and also provides passive cooling for the backside of the voltage regulation module (VRM), the GPU core, and VRAM on the 3090 cards.

Enclosed:
- EK-Quantum Vector Strix RTX 3070/3080/3090 Backplate - Nickel
- Mounting mechanism
- Thermal pads

Damn must be one of the other block makers who has heatpipes on the back! I have lost myself trying to do research into these cards and the waterblock.

It was aquacomputer's backplate that has heatpipe

Also I see a lot of people are using Alphacool D-ram cooler and are reporting temps of 38C of the rear ram.

Holy sheeeeeeeeeeet, bet that weighs a bit!

I am sure it will but at least it will do a proper job!

I will either go with that or I quite like the watercooled ramblocks on the back of the backplate. That would give the best performance. keeping your memory to 38C should allow for max overclocking.

If its anything like the 2080ti block they did, that was the coolest waterblock for that generation and with the backplate weighed 1.5kg!!!!!

That is lovely! Especially the temp read out. I wonder if they will make once for FE as that looks for reference.

How are all you fetting the FE? I’ve been trying since launch day and always getting out of stock.

I signed up to be alerted by email using this link: https://www.nowinstock.net/uk/computers/videocards/nvidia/rtx3090/ and set the alert specifically for the FE. It was in my inbox at 19:08 and by 19:16 I had completed my transaction. It was out of stock after that.

A few people are of the opinion that Thursday seems to be restock day on the Nvidia store.

It was pure luck on my part to be honest - I don't even have notifications enabled on my phone, I just happened to check my email at the right time!

A certain competitor has 542 outstanding orders just of Asus branded 3090's!

That's almost £million in backorders, just for Asus! And people said 3090 wasn't worth it for gaming - oh how consumer behaviour has proven them wrong!

Makes you wonder how many OCUK must have on backorder since they are still taking orders.

Wow whats the release date for this puppy? That is spectacular!

i like the idea of how the ram cooler on the back as well, how do they mount it to the back, im guessing you'll have to drill holes into the back plate with longer screws as well.

Edit: nvm i've just checked and theres no stock on their website yet but the new 3080 and 3090 doesn't seem to have the heat pipe on the back available?

They only launched it 16 hours and those are the pics from their launch for the 3080 and 3090. I assume they havent updated their site yet with the active backplate.

And I am loving the lcd display with the temp and flow rate as well.

Unless it takes them months to have stock, I think this is the one for me.

And yeah the owners with the ram blocks are drilling 4 holes in the backplate to mount them. So its a lot more DIY but will certainly be the best solution for getting rid of the heat from the back but aquacomputer's backplate shouldnt be that shabby and certainly better than just a passive backplate.

Im so drawn to it, can you tell im excited? haha!

That LCD screen is defo a massive plus as well, saves me having to plumb in an additional sensor. I can use the alphacool one for now until this is officially released and available, very excited for this!

My initial findings of the extremely hot backplate is confirmed then, active cooling is needed to keep it under control. I have fans blowing onto the backplate at the moment while its mounted vertically so it helps but not as much as i'd like as its still toasty to the touch.

Oh damn that aqua computer block is exactly what im after, display matches perfect.
Not too keen on their own website though the translation is iffy, anyone know best place to keep an eye out for stock or subscribe to alets for them?

I've messaged ocuk to see if they're gonna be stocking any, it would be the place to order for next day delivery if they do it.

They are a GREAT company, I use a lot of their stuff, I couldn't have a PC build without an Aquaero in it, the software is perfect for fine tuning fans, pumps, etc to your liking. Ignore their 90's style website, they are just old school techies.
