The Ampere RTX 3090 Owners Thread

Stock cooler? If so, is that with side panels on and just some case fans? Interested to hear how people run their 3090's in their case on stock coolers out the box and what temps they get.
I top out at 67/68c on gigabyte gaming oc, if I undervoult it sits at around 62 under load, generally runs around 1875 sometimes up to1925
Crazy but I'm running on the 650w power supply in the h1 case, though cpu is Intel Core i5-10600K, so not so power hungry

I dont know if its the first, but it also goes by the name of galax i believe. it runs sweet, no coil whine at all and had KFA cards before, never had an issue in the past so very pleased with it so far.

Yeah they are great cards i had a KFA2 2080Ti and performance and cooling was excellent, would have gone for one if they were available.

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your RTX 3090

I thought the gaming Oc was too big for the H1

anychance you can pm me his details ? Did he put the magnets on or did you do that ? Also what RTX 3090 are you running and what power supply ?

Gbmakers2016

If you going to do like I did , you want 370mm by 173 mm 3 mm thick, there are loads of different designs , once you know what one you like message them with the size and they will tell you what to put on your order and they will do it

R ethe magnets I stuck em on myself ,but the self adhesive sticker on em is crap so I used some super glue

Re the power supply my gigabyte gaming oc 3090 runs fine with the 650w one in the H1 , but that would depend on what cpu your running (see igor labs article on the subject) I also do a small undervolt without impacting performance

Note previous post on the mod to make the card fit, but there are a few 3080 's and 3090's that fit just fine without mods, think the PNY, TUF , EVGA and a couple more

Check here to see which cards fit without issue

Zotac owners, I'm wondering whats your performance like? Just got my zotac last week and I'm using it in my nr200. I found it really hot and loud out of box. So I deshrouded it, undervolted it, and I also flashed the gigabyte gaming oc bios into it. Now it's running at 1920mhz at around 70C under load.

Just as a heads up guys this 3090 water block does not fit the KFA SG 3090 EK-Quantum Vector RTX 3080/3090 D-RGB Graphics Card Water Block. You have to mill out the part shown for it to fit over the plug located on the board in that area.

It says in description it fits my card, but i had to mill out that portion of recess in the block to get it to fit. So this information listed is not right. IT DOES NOT FIT THE KFA SG 3090 after milling it does fit, sitting at 18c idle :)

Interesting. I would expect that to be an exact reference copy, as per the others (same as you I imagine). I test fitted against the PNY and Palit boards and they both fit, so fair warning for KFA owners.

What have EK said and any chance we can see the work you did or is it too late for photos?

Just checked Frubelings link. Not listed. That changed then, must have been like Zotac which also got pulled from that list.

Sorry cant show the work as its fitted to card now and in use, but that list i got from OCUK website. thats what i based my purchase on. it fitted the KFA2 SG 3090 but it does not, OCUK need to update this listing for KFA cards as people will never get it to fit
without crushing the connector on the card. its also directly under the water channel in the card, so has to be done very carefully if milling. ( DO NOT THINK YOU CAN DRILL OUT A BIT MORE OR YOU WILL BREAK INTO WATER CHANNEL )

The block its self works very well indeed, always liked the EK blocks, even for them its an easy adjustment so it will fit the KFA2 SG

With the water block fitted, it makes it a very short card.

Yeah, it was the fact it was so close to the water channel that got me interested in seeing the work you did.

Good job managing it and keeping it working. I’m loving how quiet my system is with mine in - well worth doing.
