The Ampere RTX 3090 Owners Thread

No regrets here, i think they are very close in out right performance, Plus RT will be better if you want all the bells and whistles, but for me i have a G-sync monitor which i love. So to sell that and buy a Free-sync the same would be even more expense.
I managed to get my KFA2 GS 3090 for a good price, so no complaints.

I hope AMD do well, I also hope purchaser's have stock available to buy. If the CPU launch is any thing to go by i would say the 6700XT will also be a pre order special.

So everyone enjoying their cards ? Any regrets or wanting to sell up and get an AMD 6900Xt ?

No regrets. I regret the ordering process, but not the card. I use it for productivity mainly and if I do use it for games I want the best RT performance. AMD isn't anywhere near the 3090 or 3000 series for RT. There is a reason they left those slides out.

Zero regrets, you could offer me a brand new AMD card swap for my 3090 plus the cash difference in hand and I'd still not take it.
I love this thing :)

After talking to inno3d techs for 3 days we have coke to the conclusion my x4 3090 vrm fan is broken.

Aparently it is automated fully and will turn on wen gpu hits 50-60 centigrade but even pushing it to thermal max with benchmarks and it won't spin :( will have to rma it very sad

Only then to send this email to me an hour ago:

1x 1119245 VGA ASUS Geforce RTX 3090 ROG-STRIX-RTX3 ... Expected in our warehouse: unknown

Ok, so, I went from order queue 24th to 10th over the last couple of days, so I REALLY don't think they got more than 15 cards over the past couple of days, I placed my order a month ago. Kinda getting sick of this now.

Very nice, does the performance change in any meaningful way? what Model card and block did you get?

EK block modified by myself to fit, and the card is a KFA2 SG 3090, it does allow the card to boost well and hold it nicely. plus its as cool as can be. Quad rad and D5 pump as GFX card is on its own cooling loop.

Got my 3090 STRIX OC this week. Boy is this thing toasty. I previously had a Radeon VII and everything was fine in my case but this thing manages to heat up my entire case to the point where the place above the card becomes hot to the touch. I'd understand if this was a SFF case but it's an enormous core X9.

I'm going to need to invest in some extra cooling and change the current layout for this card.

Do you have any photos to show us will be nice looking.

Here are some pics of it in and running, pics of the back are hard as it has the nickel mirror finish back plate, so you see reflections.

this is the pic of what i had to mod on the KFA2 GS 3090 to fit, one plug on the card is longer and wont fit inside the block cut out marked in red.

you'll want to start under volting if you are trying to use a 400w card in a sff case

I think he is saying he would understand the temps if its a tiny SFF case, but he has the Core X9 which is indeed a massive case.

That said I would not worry if the case itself is warm, would be a given if your dumping 400 watts from a GPU alone to make the case panels around it feel warm. As long as the component temps are all good, then non issue IMO.
