Even with vertical mount I realised this thing needs more support. White lego bricks on order! Anyway add me to the list of frustrated 3080 customers who ended up going all the way!
Have a B550 Vision D motherboard sat here waiting for a 5900x. Hopefully this/next week then I can stop faffing with my PC.
Edit - no coil whine reported although undervolted and using brand new phanteks 1000w PSU
@pBay - love your set-up mate, I'm intending on having the exact same thing (well, pretty much).
Have you thought about ordering one of the new EK vertical mounts? That will deffo eliminate your sag, I think! Attaches to the rightmost motherboard screws.
That’s a great looking build. Which riser card are you using and have you run into any weird issues with it? Keep hearing too many stories about frame hitching and BSOD when using risers.
I've ordered the mount from abroad from an 'official source' - arriving this week. Thanks guys! Good shout on that mount @Nitefly , do you know if it is available in UK yet?
@BubbySoup its the original Coolermaster vertical GPU mount, bought it last year. No issues has been flawless with my old 1080ti now the 3090. Problem is these cards are so big and heavy that I didn't feel that confident without something supporting the end.
Thats how the lottery goes. I know a guy who got a MSI and is currently running at +200 and hitting a constant 2150Mhz and I think he is even undervolting.
How are you finding temps with your GPU in the vertical position ?

I'm not sure if you're running an AMD rig or not but your riser cable with only be PCIE3. It only seems to be LinkUp that make PCIE 4.0 cables - you can get a white one but only from their website, I think. I've ordered one too.
My rig will be AMD, going MSI Unity X board, two sticks of Neo Ram... Lian Li XL white case.... SLI120 fans. You've even gone for the blooming cables I was about to order
I LOVE the silver looking GPU. Really swish. Half tempted to go for that.... although I did have my heart set on the gaming X trio.... and now there is this white strix card....! Choices choices
How many of you got the 3090 and had a 2080ti?
I switched my 3090FE back to horizontal - it was at least 5 degrees hotter. But I think that the fan setup on the FE is more intended for horizontal flow. How are you finding temps with your GPU in the vertical position ?
Not too bad, seems to run about 8c hotter at load. I'm running the quiet BIOS so with the choked off airflow because of the glass it's averaging about 78c vertically. Would probably be about 70/72c at load horizontally and about the same temps as the reviews. With the performance mode the fan is way more aggressive but it keeps the temps at about 72c vertically, so about 5 to 8c off that horizontally. Fan is much too loud in performance mode vertically so the quiet one is a nice compromise, pretty much the same performance for a slightly warmer card, but it's so much quieter.
