Got this error after burning a copy of Windows 7. The burn said complete but i got this error.

What's wrong? Will it work when i try to install it?

Try verifying the hash of the ISO matches with a valid one so you can rule out a corrupt download (a quick way would be to just Google the hash and check you get lots of results). I use HashTab but there are plenty of others.

Also try burning to better quality media and at a slower speed, and make sure you check to verify it. Try burning with imgburn as it always works well.

Can you verify if that's correct? I had a quick google but it's inconclusive 'cause i'm clueless.

They don't look like official hashes to me. That is, someone has probably modified the contents of the disc which could have broken it. Are you not downloading the ISO from Microsoft? That's the only guaranteed way to ensure it's not going to be tampered with and should work.

You could also try installing it with VirtualBox to check if it works - you don't even need to burn the ISO to try it, so if it won't work here either then chances are it's a bad ISO.

It's an ISO from a disk i got a while back. I'm looking to do a clean install on a new computer so i don't think VirtualBox is relevant. At least i know the ISO is dodgey though.

There's one PC in the house that has windows 7 on it and apparently has as many licences as you need as long as it's in one house. Thing is there's no disk, so how'd i go about doing that?

Actually just clicked the google hash links. Does seem from a pirated version actually, heh. That's a disk i had from a while back that i probably tried to install on my current PC. Right now i'm legitimately trying to get one of these packard bell licenses to work on my new build. If there's 2 licenses not being used in my house, why'd i try to pirate?

Well testing it with VirtualBox etc would have been a good way to check if the ISO or DVD media was bad.

I don't know much about Windows licensing, but I imagine unless you have a family pack of it you can't legally install it on any other PCs. You can transfer a retail license to another PC but have to uninstall it from the original PC first if you do it.
