The Apprentice Series 7

Suzie just doesnt have the fire to be more pressing with her ideas. That's what let's her down

No way. He definitely knows the proposals of each candidate.

Do you honestly believe that somebody would invest £250k, without seeing before hand, the business plan/proposal of the contestant he is about to choose?

His final decision will be based on the abilities of the candidate, as well as their business proposal. Obviously, Alan Sugar could, make alterations to the business proposal, so that he is happy with it.

She is young and is over-awed by the older and more "mouthy" contestants.

However, you will notice that when she was PM, she knew that she had the final say and she ran a very tight ship. She made all the final decisions and did everything the way she wanted. I think she realised that the contestants around her were a bit dim when it comes to business strategy. They may be better sales people (gift of the gab), but when it comes to business strategy, Suzie eats them all for breakfast (and that includes the Irish Jedi, who rates himself very highly).

Did you see her get over-powered in the last task, when she was PM and won?
She made virtually every single decision by herself.
And above all, she won.
Perhaps I missed something...at what point in the last episode did you see her get over-powered?

Tom on the other hand, was a walk-over and had no faith in his own ability or beliefs. Melody was the "real" PM for the losing team, in last week's episode.

Effectively, what we saw was Suzie vs Melody and Melody lost. Tom was just a by-stander.

i don't think tom was as much as push over as you think. the onyl thing i think he should have put his foot down on was when melody said she'll keep all the meetings she has made. he should have got her to give them all to him and then he can spread them around/do whatever. the choice of products was a good leadership, he sent them to do a job as far as he was aware they did it and the info said chose the teapot.

i think alan sugar gives people a chance in the boardroom to stay and leon missed it this time. alan sugar said when he started out he did deals with japanese and chinese etc, but leon should have pointed out he didn't have a japanese speaking partner. if alan sugar did i can't see why he'd bother to go to a meeting when his partner could do with it all. if leon had insisted he talk to the non-english speaking people it would be for his own gain and not the teams. if leon had pointed this out i think he could still be there

Tom made 4 mistakes:

1. he should've gone with his gut instinct and gone for the baby car chair in a back pack. Tom stated previously that he had worked with baby products and as such, would've had some knowledge about the market.

I'm involved in AI and Language Processing. If I was on the Apprentice and somebody offered me a product which is related to those fields, I would've been able to assess very quickly as to who the buyers would be and what the likely outcome would be (with regards to sales).

2. He allowed Melody to basically run the show however she wanted. If necessary, he could've benched her (though this would've been an absolute last resort). Part of management and running a company is about handling your employees, getting the best out of them and making them do things that they don't necessarily want to do. At no point during the task was Melody managed.

3. On the 2nd day, he seemed to just give up and didnt make any appointments. He just...gave up. Even the the Irish Jedi (who doesn't know French), made some appointments and distributed the appointments within the team.

4. He was utterly useless when he was making the sale to La Redoute. That one pitch could've won him the task and he just didn't take it seriously.

To argue the point that Tom did not screw up spectacularly, baffles me completely.

Mammalian, I'm not sure if you saw the post show, with Leon.

Leon apparently worked for La Redoute. Had he mentioned this during the boardroom, I think he would've got fired immediately. I don't think Tom would've even needed to choose to bring back 2 people...it would've been an immediate firing.

How someone can work for a company and then apparently, claim not to know anything about them is unforgivable and is tantamount to sabotage.

It was Tom that also used Paper/Scissors/Stone to decide who was going to do a pitch wasn't it?

As I said at the time, Tom was a complete disaster and it was only Leon's lack of input that saved him.

You can go by one episode alone to support your theory if you wish; I'd prefer to take the entire process as a whole and consider her performance across all tasks. She's too meek (at the moment). If she improves in that regard (which she did indeed show signs of doing in the last episode) then fantastic, I'll be a fan.

I think that you are falling for the Irish Jedi's words. He used exactly the same word that you have used..."meek". Could it be that you, too, are falling for his mind tricks or is your choice of words merely a coincidence?

In all the episodes where Suzie has had better ideas (and her PM has ignored her), she has stated quite clearly that she is not happy and what should be done. In both the episode where Jim was pitching to the magazine at too high a price, she stated very clearly that they should slash their prices. She said the same thing after the 1st and 2nd pitches. Unless she put a gun to Jim's head, there was nothing else she could've said.

When the magazine name was decided, Suzie was quite explicit and made it clear that she did not like the name, HOWEVER, if the team decide to use the name, she would support the decision.

When the young white female was the PM (I honestly can't remember her name), and they were deciding on what price to quote the customer who wanted them to get rid of the furniture, Suzie was the only one who suggested that they should offer to pay the customer to take the office furniture. Suzie made this very clear. The PM then ridiculed her. The other team-mate (the black lady), was asked by the PM if she was doing the right thing. The black lady confirmed that they should charge the customer money and that basically Suzie was talking nonsense.

After the inquests, it turned out that Suzie was correct in all of the above instances.

After you have given your PM your opinion a few times, there is nothing else you can do. If you keep harping on about it, you create disharmony and argument.

I agree that she could be more forceful. However, I wouldn't say that she was totally weak, as is being made out. She gives her opinion and it is up to the PM to either take her advice or ignore it. So far, every time the PM has ignored her advice, they lost the task.

Actually I think Suzie is just negative about everything but doesn't put her foot down so that if it turns out to be a bad idea she can say that no one listened and if not, it is not brought up as LS is looking into the areas which did fail. I am surprised that there are people who seem to think that she knows what she is talking about on here as to me she seems incredibly whiney and annoying. The last person I would choose to be on my team... apart from maybe Natasha who is equally annoying but for different reasons.
At least with Melody, you can play to her strengths and set her a selling task. APART FROM POINTING OUT FAILURES WHAT CAN SUZIE DO???? Helen totally saved the pitch about the chairs it was cringe worthy watching Suzie talking to them until Helen stepped in.

Zoe is the complete opposite of melody basically. Put them together and you would have a much less annoying person.
Anyway I vote Susan because I hate her and if I hope for her to go every week I might just get lucky
