Here we have the new 8Pack Asteroid, the most powerful Mini ITX Custom Gaming system available. The aim was massive power in a tiny footprint. Along with this the system should run cool and very very quiet!! The perfect LAN or space saving PC has arrived in the 8Pack Asteroid. To complement this concept the Asteroid comes as standard with 8Pack branded flight case, that can accommodate the machine plus all peripherals needed for LAN including a slim 24 inch monitor.

The Basic Spec is:
6700K @ 4.7ghz+
ASUS Z170 Impact MB
8gb DDR4 3866mhz Memory
Nvidia 6gb 980 Ti 1450+
1.5TB SSD's
1000w Titanium Superflower PSU.
Full Custom Water cooling controlled by Aquaero automated controller.

Upgrades available: Titan X, Upto 32gb memory, Further Storage.

Looks amazing. Congrats. Is that really a huge waterblock thing just on top of the bottom fans? And on the top another one with fillport?

Yes.

The top block with fill port is the reservoir. The bottom one serves to channel the coolant around the system.

Would you recommend this or the Comet trying figure out differences seems biggest is one 980Ti versus two 980Ti. But guess if you considering either of those you should also consider the Infin8 Meteor as well.

Certainly systems I've been considering or building one very similar myself.

I personally like this system best out of all the systems mentioned just for the aesthetics and performance to size ratio.

Comet is of course offering faster storage with M.2 and archive storage with hdd's, more mems as standard, higher CPU as standard but actually Asteroid will also often be 4.8+ too. Yes the main gaming difference is for sure the dual Ti as standard or the upgrade of Titan X sli. This offers 30%-35% or so better gaining performance at high res. All of this is still in a compact solution, not as compact as Asteroid.

Meteor is of course a capable SLI compact solution too. With Meteor the highest bin of components are not used as standard. So you lose on CPU and memory performance. The GPUs are not overclocked at all as standard. The storage is also slower. In general every component is one level below the 8Pack level. Which is the no expense spared solution. All this being said its still a fine system.

I recently did full benches for a customer Meteor vs Comet. I can easily mail these to you also just PM me your Addy.

For me the Asteroid is unique in its look and amazing perforfance to size. But the correct choice of system really depends on your own uses.

I can't seem find out how to PM on you on these forums else I would give you my email address.

Thank you for explaining comparison I would be interested in seeing the benchmarks though.

I am honestly likely to wait till Pascal at this point to at least be unveiled before I drop 3-5 Thousand on a system. Broadwell-E certainly has me interested that's for sure as well.

i just checked and seems you have either listed the wrong amounts of RAM on here or on the website. can only go upto 16GB not 32GB.

looks awesome this thing. when building these things for yourself it is so hard to get them this good as you need practice and practice costs money. my itx in the enthoo evolv looks like a toddlers drawing compared to this. it was my first time watercooling though.

EDIT - them custom cables make it look so much easier to cable manage. true or false?

I made the thing why would I list upgrades incorrectly?

Just needs option adding on the website.

Cabling this size PC is difficult with or without custom cables.

Wait your life away many do. The titles are there to play now and waiting often means people miss out on playing the great games at any one time. With technology something better is always around the corner.

On 8Pack systems you have labour and installation free upgrades so changing is not that costly when u can sell old cards with air coolers and waterblovks too. I also re test and clock the new hardware FOC too!!

Oh didn't realise you got labour and installation upgrades certainly something to consider is there any chance of a 8 Pack micro ATX x99 system being sold ?

It's a fancy manifold, connecting up the tubing from the waterblocks with the tubing to the pump, reservoir and radiator. It does that with channels cut into the thicker one of two plastic panels screwed together with tapped holes for fittings to connect the tubing.

Also acts as a partition in the case to hide the radiator.

This is probably the most beautiful system I've seen on OCUK!!

I am seriously considering buying one in the next couple of months, just a couple of quick question;

Does it only have a single 240mm rad? (or there is another one hiding behind?).

When ordering a system like this one, will it be identical to the one on the pictures? or, can we expect a few alterations (fittings, blocks etc..) depending on stocks.

Thanks!!

2 x 240 although end users should never worry with cooling in 8Pack systems as very over spec. Fans on this system never spinning above 900 rpm so it's very quiet.

Yes supplied system providing you require red and black will be exactly as the pics.
