The Battlefield 4 Thread 2015

Hmmm 30 seconds seems a bit short to me... I can see this going down as so...

SL: *stealthily going into cap point with head on a swivel*
Noob squad member other side of map: 'REQUEST ORDER! REQUEST ORDER! REQUEST ORDER!'
Server: SL you have 30 seconds to comply!
SL: Awkwardly tries to push Q on point currently capping by looking up into the sky.
Enemy player: pew pew pew *teabag*

Maybe 1 minute time limit?

When you give the order you shout "Capture/Defend this objective!" so any stealth will go out of the window. Normally you would have marked the target before getting in stealthily, but it would only take one noob at a different flag to disagree with your choice and you can then either lose the squad leader position or give yourself away.

Timeout should be 2 mins at least.

Its Friday, chin work off for the afternoon, get home like an excited schoolboy and hook that bad boy up.

I'm tempted, they have also delivered my new M65 RGB this morning, slightly worried as the webnote states "left on porch".

I don't have a porch.

Thing is I finish at 2pm on a Friday anyway, if I book a half day I need to book 4h, thus losing 2hours.

Think I'll just finish at 2 and pray that nobody has stolen my new mouse!

IIRC one of the patches changed it so that only your squad could hear the call outs and not the enemy as it gives away your position.

So the teamplay initiative seems to be back and this change should please Hazard and anyone else that takes being squad leader uber serious.

During my commander run I can honestly say that nobody in our platoon takes squad leader seriously. Team Speak and VOIP were used to issue orders, relay enemy positions and on the odd occasion ask for supply drops.

Therefore this initiative will make little difference for those using ts and random players won't give a rat's ass about it since target audience's BF initiation started with the Bad Company series which had no CR and therefore didn't prioritize team play enough.

The cr implementation for squad orders is very clunky anyway and needs an overhaul therefore the 30 second penalty for not giving orders will make no difference or encourage squad orders anyway.

Commander also needs drastically looking into also from a teamplay initiative. This is how I felt playing as commander most of the time:

I always give squad orders. Maybe sometimes on a new round I won't notice I'm the squad leader until someone requests an order.

Although it is indeed very rare you get a squad working together in public games. Depends on the map really; it's size, and where squad members are on the map. People aren't going to go from A to G on Golmud just because you gave an order. However going from C to D on Zavod is far more likely to be obeyed.

Most the time it's just a way for me to get more points :). "Oh look, I'm at B flag... **sets squad objective to B flag**, awesome now I'm on the squad objective already" :).

I hate being squad leader, that constant sound when the Commander is beeping new "missions" to you. Yes I know what flag needs capping, yes I am already going there.

That said, at max rank I don't need the points so if I am a squad leader and anyone needs the points let me know and I'll jump out of the role.

Who's on tonight to hear me cream up over GSync then?

140? Roger

I will probably be on late tonight, going to test most of my installed games.

Just need Nexus to get his arse in gear and come back online!

I'm literally the worst with team orders. My excitement is that they seem to be starting the teamplay initiative back up which is a good thing. There were lots of cool ideas that never got into the prototype phase.
