Do you mean in the open with no objects?
FLIR would look completely black if there is nothing to reflect the IR back. As soon as an object is in the viewable range it should be clearly visible though.

I haven't played much giants of karalia though so maybe it's just bugged.
 
Before the patch with Thermo on you could see properly on every map in tanks, Giants of Karelia is one of the maps for me now which is pitch black and can't see a thing. Unplayable for me. Im hoping they revert back to the prevous settings or I will have to stop using tanks completely.
 
Anyone else getting CPU spikes and texture flicker after the latest patch in mantle? It's driving me up the wall. I only play bf4 and it was fine pre-patch!!! I'm gonna have to go bf3 or Nvidia!!
 
Anyone able to advise on a couple of issues please?

I can't seem to be able to play the expansion packs despite having premium. When I try launch a game on anything that's not vanilla, I am told I need to install that expansion pack. Any idea how? It's a completely fresh install.

And the other thing, I can't get the game to run full-screen. It runs fine windowed, and I can select full screen, but when I click apply the screen goes black and defaults back to windowed. It's no biggie but still a little niggle.

Any ideas?

If you go to game details in origin you should be able to install the DLC packs. If they claim to already be installed then your origin install may be borked which will mean uninstalling and re-installing.

Did I mention I love this game?

Control - alt - enter when in game will make it fullscreen. And as for not being able to play the expansion packs that odd. You don't happen to have 2 origin accounts and 1 with normal bf4 do you, maybe you logged into the wrong one after format..
 
Thanks. We didn't have any calls or anything in our squad and I think the commander was up to ** SWEAR WORDS MUST BE FULLY STARRED ** all.
