The BBFC are at it again..

Don't you get to kill a little girl in Bioshock? I mean, even manhunt doesn't let you do that, and no one complains about that.

You kill violent criminals in Manhunt. So maybe it'd promote a good society. Full of vigilantes. :p

I see where the killing methods would upset people, But are the methods any less evil that sticking guns in peoples faces and pulling the trigger? Which happens in probably 80% of games out on the PS3 and 360.

What tool is readily available to a lot of gamers? A car! And how many games now allow you to run pedestrians down and joy ride around town? LOTS. And these games are still on the market.

Once again, We are being told what we can and cant PLAY, not do, PLAY. See that special word there? I'll bold it for you... PLAY

Just because there's scum that exists in society who would go out and kill some one, Do you really think it's the games fault?

I mean I remember reading about someone who killed someone, I believe in Germany, With a sword and blamed Final Fantasy 7!!

Games aren't to blame, It's just societies scum, once again looking for an excuse for the way they are.

I think "I want to play it even though it will contribute to the downfall of society as we know it" is a more selfish outlook tbh.

The main causes for the breakdown of society are broken families, drugs (esp. crack & heroin) and consumerism/materialism. Repairing the 'downfall' of society by banning video games is like trying to cure gangrene with a band-aid.

Except that playing violent computer games does have an effect on a person's physiology, including increasing levels of aggression. The vast majority of people can control that aggression so it's not much of a problem, however for the tiny majority that don't, I don't think it's a good idea that they should have access to games like Manhunt.

They do have an effect on a persons physiology. If they didn't we probably wouldn't play them. But the tiny minority you refer to are naturaly violent and banning computer games will not stop them being violent or reduce violent crime.

The logic you use is the same logic that says banning firearms will reduce the murder rate or making drugs illegal will stop people taking them.

Should just add that I did play the first manhunt and found it a bit disturbing so stopped playing it about half way through. Am I concerned that Manhunt 2 will be worse? Not really, because there is far worse stuff everyday in the news (eg Iraq) and even more worse stuff on the internet that can't be banned.

A game like Manhunt 2 even with an 18 rating will get into the hands of kids. It's the parents brother/sisters who buy the games for the kids. So the best way to keep a cack game like manhunt from them is to just ban it.

After experiencing the first game the worlds a better off without it.

And others are free to play it themselves and come up with there own conclusion.
What makes you so special?
