Let's talk about it.

The Stanley Parable is a brilliant game and I was expecting to be blown away since this comes from the same writer.
But oh well, I won't complain about it being a documentary with little to no actual gameplay, the problem is the story itself:
the loneliness and need for approval that many creative people suffer from.
That's it? Could've written a blog post instead of making a videogame.
It just doesn't feel like a story worth telling.
I would've thought it came from a random hipster, but no, that came out of the writer of one of my favorite videogames.

What's really to learn is that we're all human, inspiration and effort are always needed and even a brilliant writer can disappoint :o

I hope someone here liked it, maybe I didn't catch something.

Would've hoped the Title is enough. There's nothing else to discuss about the game anyway, it's just 80 minutes.

Just played through this. Not impressed at all to be honest. A philosophical journey exploring the highs and lows of creativity.

The problem is that the 'game' elements were utterly superfluous and not required at all to tell the story. By this I mean there was no point in allowing the player any control at all - I would have gained the same insight by watching the game be played.

Choices when presented made no difference whatsoever, I got the strong feeling soon into the game that I was being led by the nose through a very linear narrative.

I could have gained as much as this game gave me by reading an article. Shame really as I wanted to enjoy it.

I do love a story based game and don't need any interaction and with games like Dear Esther being of similar ilk, this for me was the biggest waste of time and money on my part and that is time I will never get back but got my money back with Steam refunds.

Honestly, save your money and buy something more interesting like soap on a rope!
