So, getting married in February, our 'Guest book' for people to sign, is actually a blank white bartop arcade machine with a Raspberry Pi4 in it running retropie.

Each side configured with a start button, joystick and a 6 button configuration.

I would like to get some peoples opinions on the best games for this configuration, either as a 2 player co-op OR 2 player versus, no single player story etc, the whole point is to get people either gaming together or against each other :)

Fire away! :D

Games like Street Fighter / Tekken or any other fighting games, Streets of Rage 2, Battletoads? Guessing it's running MAME?
Yeah definitely will get some SF (And MK) on it for fighting games, streets of rage is a good shout, will look into battletoads :)

Haven't looked into MAME, it's just retropie on it atm.

Other initial thoughts:

Super smash TV

Super Bomberman

Contra

I don't want the list to be too big, as people will spend more time scrolling through if they have too much selection, a bit like me and my steam library..

Final Fight
Turtles 1 and 2
Cadillac's and dinosaurs
captain commando
vendetta 2
mutation nation
dungeons and dragons tod and som
double dragon series
battletoads
alien vs predator
battle circuit
warriors of fate
captain america and the avengers
xmen

there is tons more co-op beat em ups

Congratulations on getting married. If i was at your wedding I'd want to see Contra and Turtles and Mario Bros. Obvs Street Fighter and MK if you can and also Super Bomberman.

Thanks for the invite!!

I brought a Dreamcast to my wedding in May, went down a treat!!
I'm glad it went down well :D I've not been to a wedding with similar before, but should be a great way to fill the slower gaps during the day etc

Awesome, will take a look at these, thanks :D

Loads already but definitely a few NeoGeo games spring to mind, so:
  • Puzzle Bobble 2 (Bust-a-Move)
  • League Bowling
  • Metal Slug
  • Windjammers (I know this has already been said).
Elsewhere a few others that spring to mind and also likely to be 'known' by some
  • Bubble Bobble
  • Pong
  • Pang

Vs:

Street Fighter II
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Soulcalibur II
Tekken 2
Mortal Kombat Trilogy

Co-op

Dynamite Cop
Streets of Rage 2/3
Streets of Rage Shredder's Re-Revenge (MD Hack)
TNMT - Turtles in Time (SNES)

On top of all of that, I'd also consider Parodius on the PS1, which is also two player.

With regard to which genre would be best, depends on attendees and how many of those are gamers. I guess another issue is how long some of the beat-em-ups can be, 20 mins to an hour. Quick match or two on Street Fighter etc will only take a couple of mins. I'd probably lean towards a fighter, but depends on guests.

speedball 2 / sensible soccer / kickoff 2 (Amiga)

if you like final fight also consider cadillacs.and dinosaurs (arcade)

super sidekicks (negogeo) always popular on my machine. I suppose you want quick turnaround otherwise I would suggest neo turfmasters. (negogeo)

one you may not of heard of and is brilliant fun is an old little hockey game called hat trick (arcade)

congrats btw. we didn't have an arcade at our wedding (cool idea btw) but it was videogame themed so each table was based on a videogame so we had a sonic ,.mario, James pond table etc. seemed to go down well with the guests who "got" it..... and sod the rest ;)
