THE Best Air Cooler

hi folks, had my thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme for ages now with 2x 120mm fans on it, always use artic silver 5 too!

Since i bought this beginning of last summer have any better air coolers been released...? or is the one i have still the daddy?

Ive had a zalman 9500 and tuniq tower, and its better then both of them by a fair margin!

any advice wud be excellent, im on AM2 socket too!

Stick with the Ultra - still , allegedly , if not the best one of.

A few new coolers have came about, the thermolab baram and the coolermaster v8, compared to a standard TRUE they gain about 1'c, lap a TRUE and its a different matter, ive tried various coolers and none can match a nicely lapped TRUE.

TRUE copper would be nice, but unfortunately its a very heavy cooler, and delta fans are insane

1 delta on a TRUE beats most w/c setups i've found... Doesn't take long to get ****** off with the noise though.

Im running 2x2000 rpm sharkoon silent eagles om my TRUE on a q6600, at full speed theyre not to bad noise wise, i shudder to think what deltas are like

i cant believe i wasted £25 squid on a thermaltake blue orb ii, using arctic cooling mx-2 my q6600 idled at 45c stock!

Only just today installed my first Thermalright Ultra 120, same paste, same cpu and i idle around 31c on all cores at stock.

Man i wish i got this heatsink a long time ago, especially when you can add your own fans!

I have a ThermalTake A2450 120mm (http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/files/detail/225464.jpg), but the retention clips were crap so mine is held by 4 laggy bands

The TRUE is the best cooler ive had get some decent fans in push/pull

Deltas dont have to be loud... as long as you buy the right model (unfortunatly OCUK nor any other UK company I can find sell the prefered model)... you want to look for EFB1212SHE these can be run off motherboard headers and fan controllers and produce around 140CFM at a high static pressure (which is what the TRUE needs to be trully effective)..

You do need to speed controll these though as they are loud once they pass 1800RPM or so but you can run them day - to - day at 900RPM and they are silent

Alternativly I would suggest two sharkoon silent egale 2000 in push/pull again at high RPM these need to be speed controlled
