The Best Beginners Guides

At the end of this month, I will be purchasing some begginers computer game programming guides etc, had anyone got any advice on which ones are the best?

Sorry, no idea but I'm sure a don will move this over to HTML gfx and programming, they'll know.

your best bet is probably to use the internet theres loads of stuff, the technology we live in and you want some books, find em on the net.

There's a list of books over at Gamedev.net - worth a look.

The Game Programming Gems series is held in high esteem I believe, but not really suited for beginners.

Books are so last century - get with the digital revolution. Just kidding - I prefer books too, as they're easier to take to the bog than a laptop, and don't result in singed leg hair. I'll leave you all with that mental image...
