What was it and why do you recommend it?

I read the holographic universe , Michael Talbot. Really enjoyed this, with the modern work being done on quantum computing etc it seems all to plausible.

Massively late to the party but just finished the king killer cronical (so far) and loved it - even the slow regard of silent things was mariously written despite being weird as hell! So annoyed the series is ongoing without a clear release date for the final book...

Would also put the expanse series in there if I may - so yes, not one book by any stretch, sorry.

Claire North, the first fifteen lives of Harry august. Really entertaining. "Touch"by the same author is also good.

The Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. A very good set of books with a beautifully satisfying ending, Both my wife and 11yo daughter enjoyed them too.

I'm ambling through the Wheel of Time series. I first read it years ago when it only went to book 9 or 10 I think. I'm now up to 13 after restarting at book 1 with just 1 more to go. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes the fantasy genre.

"The City of Mirrors" by Justin Cronin, the final part of "The Passage" trilogy that covered the complete destruction of the human race from a virus that turned people into mutant/vampire creatures, the survival of a few remote groups of people and the eventual emergence of our species from the other side. The first book is superb, the second I found a bit confusing but the third and final book was the best of the three, partly due to the excellent back story of the main antagonist and the subsequent answers to all of the questions asked by the first two. Great writing, characters you really care about and a level of unputdownableness :D I haven't come across in a long time.

My Turn by Johan Cruyff
Team Building: The Road To Success by Rinus Michels

Both football books but both incredible insightful.

Non football would be - The Vital Question by Nick Lane, this is a fascinating book, it's about how the life formed on our planet, there is quite a bit of hard reading but it's worth it in the end, your knowledge will increase 10 fold after reading.
