Personally, I avoid codec packs like the plague - If'n I need a new codec, I'll install it manually.

I always find that packs can cause conflicts.

K-Lite Codec Pack installs far too much stuff that you probably don't need.

K-Lite rules !!!!! plays everything does help a lot when you dont want to keep on looking for codecs saves a hell of a lot of time

If you must use codec packs (personally I use VLC and various MPlayers) then the award winning British Cole2k Codec Pack is by far the best!! k-Lite pack sucks as do many others.....
