Fudge Tunnel - Sunshine of your love. This has to be the heaviest and best cover ever!!!!

That award goes to Slayer - In The Garden Of Eden (In A Gadda Da Vida) or Judas Priest - The Green Manalishi

I heard an old blues tune on R2 the other day that was about lemons and I said to my mate, "I'll bet this is what inspired The Lemon Song". I wasn't aware it was a direct cover. I'll have to look out for it.

I have a rare vinyl copy of Led Zep 2 that shows the Lemon Song wrote by Dixon.
All the other vinyl albums show Plant Page Bonham and Jones.

Dmpoole, I think you were thinking of Howling Wolf. Killing Floor isn't a Willie Dixon song, though they covered several of his songs in their early days.

Yes I am wrong.

My version actually says Killing Floor and not Lemon Song but its still credited to Page Plant Bonham and Jones. Its been 30 years since I last looked at it.

Sorry, I couldn't silence my inner music geek! And 30 years? for shame...an album that good deserves to be played every once in a while.

I've played it a million times but you only look at the label once.
Later on it was transferred to cassette, then I got it on CD and now its MP3'd.
The last time I listened to it was about a month ago because my 16 yr old daughter wanted to listen to them.

That was an eye opener. I was playing Zeppelin in the car and both daughters kept asking who it was because they liked it and I wouldn't tell them. The very last track was Rock N Roll and they recognised it because I do it with my band.
'Is this Led Zeppelin?
'Yeah'
'I thought they were supposed to be heavy'
'They are'
'They're not as heavy as the indie stuff we listen to'
(me pausing to think) 'I suppose you're right but they were heavy in their day'.

I then told them that the term Heavy Metal was first used to describe them and they laughed.

One of many possible attributions to the term, although the meaning I think is probably about right.

S

Thats how I remember it.
Some journo knicked Heavy Metal Thunder from Born To Be Wild and applied it to Led Zeppelin.
