Right i have a Asaka fan controller - its one of the cheap models
but i have managed to mislay the power cable (yeah stupid!)
So now i have decided that i will get a better one

But what one should i get? The fans i have use the 4point connector
but i have found (with help) : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-012-AK
would this work on other models that use the 3point connector
or is there a good model that will directly connect to the fans

i have looked at the following :
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BB-001-ZA&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=189
with this i would need the above connector correct?

What do you think? is it a good option?
i have 2 LED fans currently, will be adding a 3rd very soon
so would i need 3 x of the above connector correct?

Also you can use a regular RPM controllable 4pin fan with the sentry; it only has 2 pins per fan (downvolts). 5 fan lanes, 5 corresponding temperature sensors. You can choose a want-temperature and have it auto-control as well.

Detects if a fan cable was removed, or if the system is overheating.

i have decided upon : AeroCool CoolPanel 3 Fan Controller and Card Reader i cant seem to find the Sentry for sale anywhere in UK
i am hoping this will help reduce the amount of wires i have as its a bit messy at the moment :(

would this help?
i have 2 of the fans connected to the PSU as well as a HD and DVD drive
would i still need the fans connected to the PSU in order to work or would they work
if i have them connected to the Fan Controller?

I went for the Touch 1000. The Sentry 2 can be found in the UK after a quick google.

The fans are connected through the Touch. I've got 2 sets of 2 80mm fans in tandem linked to the touch. It does increase the amount of wires because it also has the 4 temp sensors.

I have yet to fire the PC up however.

SENTRY² has a ton of wires though, so you might want to avoid it or get some other sort of cable management. (I guess you'd do fine to just route the wires properly along the sides, I just left them dangling since I don't have any airflow in the first place)

These didnt get answered - would using a Fan controller reduce the amount of wires?
would the fans still need to be connected to the PSU or can they just be connected to the Fan Controller?

Fan controller only adds more wires due to temperature sensors etc.
They can just be connected to the fan controller, and the fan controller to the PSU.

thats okay, as most of the wires at the moment are for the molex and connected fans
if i had the fan controller i think that might help reduce the amount of wires near the PSU
