I played Quake III with a Dreamcast controller fine so I can't see why the 360 would struggle.rp2000 said:Can you imagine the level of play you wee used to online on PC with a console controller? The railgun will be no where near as good without a mouse.
Why? Even though it was shockingly laggy at times I played Quake III on Dreamcast online and it was pretty decent, Dreamcast only had 1 analog stick aswell.Mephisto said:Playing online with a controller will be frustrating as hell.

The only alternative will be to dumb down the controls and have some sort of aim assistance.
I am all for original FPS games on 360 designed from the ground up, but games that have become great on PC with a high level of competition online, just won't work well with a joypad.
Doom worked because it had a simple control system even on the PC, Quake 3 Arene will not be as fast or competitive with a joypad I reckon.

DC version without mods was perfect.JUMPURS said:It's not the controls that will be the issue, it was that quake was made by the mods.
