The best multiplayer game needed

Right im after a cool multiplayer game for me and my brother. He really likes it when we play games together but hates playing VS moded in games as i always cane him, well i am 20 and hes 9 :p
So basically its got to be fun for the both of us of course so it can have violence in it so an 18 rated game is ok. Its got to be for the ps2 or gamecube
 
I know that when I was a little younger, my older brother used to play a game called red faction on the ps2, as well as red faction 2. It is a fps, but what we used to do was put 4 bots on the other team against my brother and me, bags of fun! The first one was better because the guys made stupid squeels when you killed them but the second one has more maps and stuff. Thats what I recommend anyway.
EDIT: Just remembered, the latest mortal kombat, shaolin monks you can do the single player co-operatively, which was also a lot of fun when I did it with a mate. Infact I would totally recommend that!

Team Buddies!! (If you can find it) Kinda like Hogs of war (which is like 3D worms) but much faster and with excellent voice clips.

I would pay £20 for this game if i could find it!
