Is there a common consensus on what the best case is for cooling high end components on air?

When I say "the best" what I mean is build quality, longevity, space, cooling etc... The only thing I don't really care about is aesthetics, I'm only interested in function and quality. Oh and I'm not to worried about cost either, I just want the best case...

TY for any opinions!

Coolermaster HAF X...High Air Flow...

The FT02 is perhaps best performance wise, just. However it's even uglier than the HafX which drops it down a peg. With that in mind I'd go for the HafX because it combines performance with value for money. There are better cases but they are designed for water which would still outperform the HafX on air but prices are more than double/tripple!

I currently own the Raven 02 and well be getting the HAF X to replace it. just looks like ill have more space for water cooling with the HAF tbh.

Ok thanks all, thats good enough for me. I'll go ahead and order the HAF X with a few extra fans...

Nice tidy build in the picture up there, it looks pretty sweet. :)

Well I transferred my rig over from its existing case (Coolermaster Stacker 832) to the HAF X at the weekend and It's definitely a step in the right direction. The graphics card alone has dropped by 10°C under load, although its only made about a 5°C difference to the cpu.

My build isn't quite as tidy as the one in the picture but its not far off either. I've got to say that its not the easiest case I've built into (definitely not one for new builders), but the sheer size, cooling and cable management features are all excellent.

I'm now toying with the idea of squeezing some liquid cooling in there...

I've got to go for the Obsidian 800D, for me IMO this is the best case for enthusiasts, I have been through quite a few good cases, but I can't see myself selling this for a while...[/url]

Yeah but as many people have said the 800D is not really any good for air cooling and I can not see it coming close to the HAF X with regards to air cooling.

With regards to performance on air, this should help.

I am not sure if that chart was with the older 180mm fans in the FT-02 or the newer Air Penetrators. I am afraid my memory has failed me there.

Anything to do with looks is purely based on opinion. I think the FT02 looks far better than a HAF-X myself, but that is entirely subjective :).

I have an FT02 myself and I am very happy with it.

Bah, just noticed when the thread was originally created! That is a nice case you have there, enjoy it!

According to the chart it isn't the very best case out there for cooling, but I'm not disappointed.

It looks like there are only a few °C in it tbh, and its still a whole lot of case for the money. Definitely a good upgrade from the Stacker 832 I had, although imo not quite as good looking.

I wouldnt believe that chart tbh it has the 1200 better at cooling than the HAF X, well the X is better than the 932 and my 932 was better than the 1200 at cooling my components.

Surprised at that as I think the Ft02 is beautiful in every way.

Cant see how the hafx is the best with all that stuff blocking the front intake.I bet my ft01 cools as good as the hafx above as the front 180mm intake isn't blocked and neither is the kama bay in the 525.
I bet the Haf X is up there with the best with all that stuff and the hdd cage removed though especially for xfire/sli without the warm hdd air headed towards the gpus.

I think most decent cases can be made to cool very well though as long as it has modular hdd cages that can be removed and has good twin 120mm/180mm+ bottom front intakes
