The, better,? version of F@H?

Can you give me an idea to get it set up so it performs well in the OCUK folding team? :) im sure my rig will lend a decent hand :D

There is a guide here: http://folding.stanford.edu/English/WinSMPGuide

It is all pretty straight forward, make sure to run CMD as admin by right clicking on it and selecting that option.

Basically you want to use the -smp 6 flag when you get to Additional client parameters []? I'd also use -verbosity 9 for trouble shooting. -smp 6 makes the client use all 6 cores and -verbosity 9 increases the detail of the logs it creates while running which will help you trouble shoot if you get any issues.

If you get stuck just reply and someone will be along to help! ;)

Yup, just run CMD as admin. If you want something to monitor progress I'd suggest HFM.NET. It can also create webpages to monitor while away from home etc.

Thats still a standard cpu unit, running SMP you should be seeing 100% usage, can you fire up task manager and look for a process that looks like "fahcore_xx.exe" and tell us what the "xx" are.

I dont get any of this, can someone explain the basic principles ;(

That is a rather large topic.

What in particular don't you understand?

If it still hasn't made any progress close the CMD window, delete the work folder and queue file from the folding folder where the exe is located. Then run CMD as admin and start it up again.

HFM.net is a simple application that uses the work folder to provide info on the clients you have, including the progress, size, type, estimated time of finishing and PPD (points per day) for the current Work unit that you CPU is working on.
