The BIG Weekend - At OcUK!

Yeah, I have dismissed these cheap sealed units as a bit of a gimmick and will either keep my Titan Fenrir or get a huge slab of metal installed such as the Noctua or Silver Arrow.

I would recommend the Antec Kuhler series over the Corsiar ones now, my 920 is on push/pull (it comes supplied with 2 fans) on a 1366 i7 930 @ 4GHz with idle temps of 40 degrees Celsius and under load (P95) never got over 55 degrees.

Stoner81.

MSI P67A-GD65 deal is too tempting. Trying to find a good mobo to go with a i2500k but torn between getting a cheap one or just saying sod it and going for a 150-200 jobby.

I hate computers :(

I'd say the GD65 at £125 with a free hyper 212 is pretty cheap. Usually £140, so that's £15 off and then a free £20 CPU cooler. £35 savings!

:( my mate brought his sandybridge i7 2600K overclocked @ 4.80GHz with high end air cooler with 24" monitor, high end graphic card, 850W power supply and got his discount of 40% off cos of his friend work there. A truely bargain what he had. I just saw his new pc today and his sandybridge was unbelieved 4.80GHz @ 1.3125vcore @ max temp just 77C! I am jealous :(

40% off for staff? Where the hell is that? No component seller makes anywhere near 40%.

I had just spat my Pepsi out all over my G19 reading that... and expensive moment me thinks!

The only guys making 40% would at a push be the manufacturer and even that would be good going!

It could be one of those "HD Ready" Plasmas that are only 1024 x 768, yes that's right 1024 x 768 with a 4:3 aspect ratio and not 1366 x 768 16:9 either :)

I have a 42" 1024*768 Plasma and it's very nice. Blu-ray content is excellent on it also. Thankfully it's got some fancy electronics to take care of upscaling for whichever res you chuck at it... definately clarity loss, impossible not to.. but it's still fantastic and I wouldn't knock it :-)

I do wish the HD5850 had 2 x DVI cos I had two monitors (there is no HDMI on my two monitors, only the DVI cable)

I tried the HDMI-DVI adapter sold here but they didn't fit next to each other on the board. I ended up getting a direct HDMI to DVI cable from elsewhere for £2(including postage, silly price...), works a treat!

Another tip I found is once you have two monitors, do not enable ATI's Catalyst Overdrive of the GC as this causes flickering (not sure about Sapphire TRIXX).

HTH
