The Carphone Warehouse is a complete shambles of a company, I rang them up only the other day because my iPhone 3G had a small manufacturing defect from the inside of the chrome trim, the woman was very unhelpful. She didn't want anything to do with the problem, she was abruptly blurted, "you will have to talk to out manager who is only in on Tuesdays" (WTF is that about!?).

I then told her never mind I am going to Birmingham at the weekend, I will take it into Apple Store and get it changed there, she replied, "No, they won't change it". She didn't seem to want to help me, or anyone else to!

End result I got my phone changed at the very helpful people at the Birmingham Apple Store.

This company loves to take your money and get their commission from O2, but it seems they won't give you any after support.

I warned people about this NEVER BUY ANYTHING from CW because they suck big time, no excuses they are a **** company.

Shame the insurance for my iPhone is still with them :(

Yet to have any problems, and I got my phone with them. Customer service was ace when I rang.

Anything ever goes wrong I'll be going through O2 anyway.

My recent in-store experience with them have been nothing but disastrous and last Friday's experience made me almost hate the company with a vengeance until I phoned their CS department up and requested a PAC code. The girls were really polite and sorted me out with an iphone which arrived on time last night.

After my 18 months end I am leaving them for sure. My main complaint is with their store personel who are just useless over here.
 
Don't ever buy anything from Carphone Whorehouse, the worst mobile phone company ever... they'll melt your soul.

I took out a mobile contract with them last year - no problems.. I then discovered that the direct debit date was in the middle of the month, and I wanted it changing to payday (26th) so all my DDs go out on the same day for organisation - no problem, rang up and they changed it. The only weird thing is that they needed to kill my existing account - recreate a new one on the new date and the month this happens I need to ring up and pay manually...

So I ring up and pay manually..

Few weeks later I get a letter through the door saying "There is an outstanding balance of £20.46 which is outstanding, please ring customer finance etc.... So I called and they say "ah yes, you've paid it in your last bill sir, it went onto the wrong account by accident, please ignore the letter..

I ignored the letter..

2 weeks later I get a letter from a debt collection agency saying they'd referred the debt over to them, and it now needed to be paid to them, if I didn't someone would "call round" to collect it.

So I called up and screamed, and again they agreed that the account was clean and they'd sent the "closure form" to the collection agency, and was told to ignore them..

To cut a very long story short, this went on for months, I got threatened with court action, harrassed to hell by a stupid debt collection agency for several bills. Even when providing bank statements showing i'd paid, and whorehouse actually acknowledging i'd paid it didn't help.. Until I threatened court action and got a solicitor involved.

It actually turned out that I had 5 accounts for one phone, and when i'd been paying the bill, the Whorehouse had been paying it into other accounts, so I was £60 in the black on one account, and £60 in the red for 3 months and defaulted on the other, when I had no concept whatsoever of these accounts... (I only have one phone!) all because of a DD date change :rolleyes:

In the end they paid of all the balances and cleared my late payments/defaults and gave me a months bill back... The direct debit still doesn't work and I pay manually lol...
 
I'm currently waiting for an exchange of my iPhone 3G, between the idiots in-store and the 6 insurance phone calls now, I'm thinking of canceling and returning the phone.
 
CPW are possibly the worst company ever, then again I never trust any shop that tries to force everyone that goes through the door onto a contract.
