haha, well you seem to be taking it well! That's good at least.

Good luck with it though! I hope you had contents cover too!

This exactly reminds me of something that happened to my dad a few years ago.

He works for the RAC and was parked up in Chertsey fixing a car. He left his van running and connected up his large halogen light and got underneath the guys car. Next thing his light goes off and the van starts driving away! Some scrote nicked it and then dumped it about a mile away after nicking various bits like his RAC laptop.

Was it even frosty in SE London this morning?

It was -1.5 west of London (near Slough) this morning and I had ice on my windscreen so it's possible.

I would be scepticle of the story if the same thing (or worse rather) hadn't happened to my old man. ;)

It's quite a common occurance apparently.

According to Greater Manchester Police 30 cars have been stolen in GM from people doing the exact same thing.

I always sit in my car and grin and bear it.

Greater Manchester Police is issuing a stark warning to drivers to take care when defrosting their vehicles, after 30 cars have been stolen since the start of the year with six taken just this morning.

The vehicles have been stolen in the early hours when drivers have left the keys in the ignition and engines running while defrosting them to go to work.
