Not a sports thread, so please don't move! Doesn't really qualify as a music thread either.
Anyway, did anyone hear the rather silly song the radio 1 dj created for the world cup? I think its great, it revels in the fact that all world cup songs are pants!

Can be downloaded from the following link:

What do ya think? Better than the load of rubbish thats been released this year anyway!

He's been playing it every day along with loads more England songs even though The Mirror ran a story that the BBC have banned songs with England in the lyrics. Where do these reporters get their info from?

was it about how sexy, and how great he is, when really he's just a fat, stupid cretin with no brains and no talent? because if it is, i'll buy the single.

"Oh I wish I was a prawn cracker with fried rice in my hair, for 77 or 69 you can get a bread roll to share"

Is his latest "comedy" song.

I thought its great, I'm so peeved off of rubbish footy songs, so there might as well be a rubbish song that knows it!

Omg! It's annoying! "Oi oi oi" geez..
You do know its supposed to be annoying? Right? :p

Having listened to at least 8 world cup songs on the drive home this afternoon including
-Stan Boardman singing about 'deh chermans' bombing his chippy,
- The dads army theme 'Who do you think you are Kidding Jurgen Klinnsman?'
- Tony Christy doing a version of Amarillo that sounds like a bricky knocked it out in his tea break
-The official Embrace pap
-Three Lions re-released ........again! (Thirty years is now forty years. A decade Brodie's been milking this for now!)
- And a Crazy bloody frog version of We are the Champions

That Chris Moyles one doesn't seem so bad after all.

I think thats very unfair. If you actually listen to his morning radio show its a right hoot. That is of course so long as your not an uptight PC prat :p

I think him and his team are really funny and its the first thing I put on at 7:45 am in the morning when I get to work. They help me through that first couple of hours at work and I'm really sad when 10 am comes.

i think that's very unfair. you're insinuating that i'm a PC prat just because i don't like crap excuses for comedy. i watched him on the big breakfast as a fill-in for Johnny Vaughan, and one of my first Moyles experiences was of him calling someone fat and ugly...i mean, really...

i've listened to his show on more than one occasion, and each time it's overrated. i think the last one was when he and "comedy" Dave (presumably ironic) were collecting football stickers or something, and they wouldn't let some woman join in. hil.ar.ious.

isn't that because that's when Jo "check out how much i know about music" Whiley comes on? if i had a gun and one bullet, it'd be difficult to choose between them.

How can anyone criticise Chris Moyles, all you guys hating him should be ashamed of yourselves :) And his world cup song is amazing! Thanks for the link to it. :D

Well to be fair to the man Television isn't really his thing as has been proved by his Channel 5 show which was pretty poor in comparison to his radio show

Well i suppose it depends on your sense of humour - just because you don't get it doesn't mean it's not funny. The guy has the most coveted spot on the radio at the moment and has just one a Sony music Award. Personally i think the problem with Moyles is that people are just jealous - the guy gets paid a small fortune for sitting in a studio talking rubbish with his mates and playing a few tunes - while we all sit at home secretly thinking, i'm funnier than that friday night down the pub why can't i have a job like that.

Whoooooooooooooooosh.

No I get it but I still think its crap :p

Chris Moyles is the lowest common denominator of entertainment in my book (along with stuff like Big Brother) the fact that he then tries to decry "world cup songs" which by their nature are crap with his own appalling effort just stretches irony that bit too far.

hehe, if you're insinuating that i'm jealous of moyles, you're gravely mistaken. we dont all secretly sit at home like that. some of us sit at home hoping there's a carbon monoxide leak in his studio. fair play to him, he's getting paid a mint...but i just don't find completely moronic rubbish funny. depends on your target audience i guess.

I think you're the one that's missing the point.

Utter crap doesn't mean it's automatically funny and ironic.

Sometimes it just means it's utter crap.

because no-one has ever put it better, in any context...not just Moyles-related.

That utter crap makes me laugh! :D

It's basically pub banter, and I think those that like Moyles and those that don't can be separated simply by empathy. If you're in the pub with your mates, you find what they're saying funny and you have a good time simply because you're all on the same wavelength. To those outside the group, all they hear are a bunch of noisy morons laughing at stupid, senseless drivel.
