Firstly, I would like to point out that the author is in no way religious and really doesn’t have any firm opinion of or in any way really care about the following….
No pun intended…but thank god for auto correct in Microsoft word! It is (again no pun) a godsend to those of us who go into autotype when transcribing boring interviews with even more boring interviewees. Having been given the task of transcribing said boring interview of an interviewee of the religious kind I can draw no other conclusion that Microsoft auto correct is indeed under the impression that ‘christians’ are more worthy than god. When typing the word ‘christian’ the infallible auto correct decides this is indeed incorrect and should be worthy of a capital letter. However, when typing the word ‘god’ the auto correct disregards this of secondary worth. I am under the impression, although I profess to knowing nothing in depth about religious bureaucracy, that god is the all seeing all powerful being that people of the chiristian persuasion should worship. Indeed, the English Dictionary defines a ‘christian’ as:
‘somebody who believes that Jesus Christ was sent to the world by God to save humanity, and who tries to follow his teachings and example’
And god as:
‘the all-powerful all-knowing creator of the universe, worshipped as the only god’
The organizational structure is therefore…….
GOD

Therefore, why does Microsoft auto correct demote said god and put lower denominator ‘christian’ as the higher power worthy of such a capital beginning? This maybe a simple overlook by Microsoft who, incidentally, also auto correct themselves to higher status than god with a capital. Or is this some kind of proof that the human beings of the christian religion do actually believe themselves to be that important so they may promote themselves as leaders of the god they profess to follow by dictating to aforementioned software provider ‘here’s a fiver, make sure other mere mortal ‘non-believer’ human beings know that us human beings of the christian persuasion are of more importance than that bloke who started this whole thing in the first place’
I refuse to auto correct my small capital christians in the above text and feel some rebellious satisfaction as I sit and stare at my red underlined disobedience.
