Please Understand that I am an 89 Year old with Dementia - https://www.alz.org/alzheimers-dementia/what-is-dementia
So I have been able to use the PS5 that I have relatively successfully with no issues at all - the way it is setup at the moment is the following,
  • The PS5 at the moment is stood on the floor, on a stand on the ground next to the TV, no problem and I have had no issue with this at all.
  • From the PS5 is a HDMI Cable that goes into a HDMI Splitter, and that is then connected into the TV, via a HDMI port on the side of the TV, again no problem with this at all.
  • Not only that but the virgin media box that is connected it to the main Sony TV also freezes as well from time to time.
And that has always been the case the above two things have; no problems in the past! However this past week when I have turned the TV on, and of course the PS5, the TV keeps flickering on/off and on the designated HDMI port it keeps flickering and one minute I can see the launch menu for the PS5, then it will flicker and just say "Sony" then back to black screen, before showing up as normal with the main screen of the PS5 menu. Previously it would stay on the designated HDMI port without flickering, I have taken all the HDMI cables out, checked them, no faults there!!! So what is happening? Any ideas, the HDMI cables are clean and have no faults either.

And here is a video of the issue -

AAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

How old is the TV?

EDIT: Sorry I just realised you mentioned that neither the splitter nor the cables are at fault. Must be the TV then surely?

Why the splitter? Is there only 1 HDMI port? If that is the case then it dates the TV so age is probably the issue.
Granted this is going to be absolutely no help to you but one of my ports was playing up a coupe of years ago. Kept going black screen at random times. Then it just stopped doing it, hasn't done it since. :D

Have you had a source connected to the tv that is running at 60hz before? Is it a 1080p tv or 4K (Looks like my old 1080p Sony Bravia) i am going to say that its probably a resolution/frequency issue or like others have said it could be a damaged hdmi port or faulty tv particularly if the Virgin box is freezing while using the same port or the tv with or without the splitter.

Just had a though.. It could actually be HDPC as its automatically set as enabled un the options if your tv is a bit old and doesnt support it that could be causing you issues. It doesnt need it so you can disable it.

It looks like your TV is crashing and rebooting (hence the Sony splash screen appearing), so I'd say it's probably the TV at fault. May be worth fiddling with other video output settings, disabling HDR etc but it may not help.

I can only suggest isolating everything. As in plug the PS5 directly into the T.V and see if the issues happen again. But at TheVoice said it kind of looks like a T.V fault.

For future note keeping consoles on the floor is not a good thing as it will suck in the dust and hair that is on the floor and clog it up with dust far faster than if it was sat above.

I'm locking this thread as the Op had plenty of advice in his previous thread on this subject - no point everyone repeating themselves
