Ooooh..... Will have to check my local. Went to see it when it as first out in a total hole of a cinema, would be nice to see it in a good one.
It's timing is a bit convenient. A week before the remake appears. Are they sure they want to remind people of the original?
When War of the World was remade in 2005 a few week before release, all copies of the original film became unavailable to cinemas to show. I know a couple of cinema's had it programmed for a vintage scifi festival and had to change to something else as they were informed about a week before they were meant to receive the film that it was no longer in the catalogue of available films.

What an absolutely cracking film. Loved it way back when - where have the years gone
