Is fantastic imo :D

I just thought about how many of the recent threads and discussions we've had in this particular forum section have really been very useful, interesting and most importantly; mature. We always seem to complain when things are bad so i (or possibly the couple of pints i've just had) thought it would be nice to discuss how good things have been in the past few weeks. I guess this all could be attributed to how brilliant the console market is becoming, it's good to see everyone excited about various titles and products and it's even better to see people going out of their way to get information over here (robert1986 in particular has made some fantastic posts recently) and get everyone discussing. I would love to list more people other than rob who have made a huge contribution as of late, but frankly the list would be too long and i really cba to make it :p.

Thoughts? (or maybe slaps for me for being such a lovey-dovey ****)

The console market is just as brilliant and exciting as you say,

But i still (always have) found the console forums hard to read, there are so many threads with valid input that i just ignore as they just become part of the 360 vs PS3 argument,

The amount of people on these forums who will argue that one of the consoles is the worst designed piece of technology in history is ridiculous, especially considering that they will have never played the opposing console.

If some of the users would grow up and accept that competition means a healthier market for us all then this forum will have truly reached perfection

Never could see the point of all this rivalry, I mean if you're happy with your console why bother trying to put the other down?

I mean we all know that PC is a superior platform :p

P.S. Before you all eat my alive the above is a joke

I think the ps3 vs 360 hijacking isnt as bad as it was before and people are understanding that the ps3 is getting better now.

I'm loving the nostalgia threads that pop up also!

I have the complete opposite. I have been completely underwhelmed by this generation, so much so that I sold two of the three consoles I had, and I mainly kept that for streaming stuff from the PC to the TV.

The endless list of sequels and uninspiring games has bored me. Not to mention the PR people getting as bad as the fanboys for the constant bitching and negative comments about other consoles, worse now than it's ever been. I'm sure I read the other day that between them EA and Activision are releasing 70% of the titles on the run up to Christmas, that's depressing on it's own, more so when most of those games will be sequels and yearly franchise releases.

On a positive note, glad things are good on the part of he forum, can't stand fanboys and flamewars, can really ruin the place,

i havent been in consoles for a bit

but there does seem to be a lot less of the argumentative posts that just cause divide

its nice to have a read through some good informative opinion/discussion

Consoles is not as bad as it used to be. I stopped coming in here when it was all the Wii sucks, 360 is the best, PS3 is awesome and the 360 sucks kinds of posts.

I own all three and they are all great.

Some great posts by Robert recently has helped bring up the quality of the sub forum no end. Well done!

I unfortunatlely came to consoles too late starting my online gaming in 2002 when online gaming on a console wasn't possible.

I had the xbox for 6 months and the PS3 for 3 months (sold the xbox) kept the PS3 for Blu ray but used the money to upgrade my PC. I find the gamers on the PC around my age (30s) and thus stick to gaming on the PC. I still like these forums as I still play on the odd occasion on the PS3 (I have GTA IV, lost (worst game ever) and oblivion.

But you are right the forums are good and a great way of finding out information but not really as useful as the 360 or PS3 dedicated forums on other sites.

cant say much for the console forums (not in a bad way just not been using it all that much)
But yea really been happy with the PC games forum as of late :D

Well my Xbox360 is the first real modern console I've ever owned (not really counting a PSP, Master System and Atari 2600) as I've always been an Amiga and PC gamer in the past. Unfortunately the PC scene cost too much to keep current for only a handful of games and I jumped ship.

I've been really happy with the Console Forum. It gives me a heads up about all the releases and keeps me current with what other people are playing. I can't understand why certain people get so passionate about certain games/consoles but the general membership here seems to be pretty mature! I don't post very often but have a look in here on a daily basis to see what's new.
