All things considered, which of these are best:

Asus DirectCU II

Which is best and why? What key things should I look out for? Are there any other similar class 670s I should look out for?

Is there any reason I shouldn't just go for the cheapest of the lot?

EDIT: Holy ****

If this is true, I am DEFF. getting the DirectCU II! Can anyone else find things to back this up or dispute it?

Depends what you plan on doing with it really, the better the cooler the lower your temps will be especially if you plan on overclocking it?.... Also how quiet they are if that bothers you?

I would base your purchase on reviews and warranty tbh.

You might save £30 getting a cheaper one, then have to RMA it to somewhere deep in Asia if it ever go's belly up.

What swayed me to the GB windforce was 680 ref PCB, 8+6pin power connectors and a UK RMA base.

I absolutely love quieter PCs, that's what I plan on.

So the DirectCU looks like the best, I am really just waiting on reviews or anything to dispute techpowerup's numbers.

I'm a big fan of the directcu cards, having a directcu 570 it is very quiet even overvolted and over clocked. Shame you can't increase voltages on the Kepler cards just yet.

Just found out the DirectCU II is £50+ more than the OCUK card... :/ Might have to consider some of the cheaper coolers.

Just got the ASUS for a pretty decent price. Problem is that I also have an 4GB EVGA on order for £20 more and I'm not sure which order to cancel. Superior PCB and quieter card or 4GB VRAM which I'll never use...

If you got the EVGA for £20, then surely it's worth keeping (or giving to me :p)

:D

I'm procrastinating, so on OcUK like a hawk :p

To answer your question, i'd keep the EVGA because I <3 EVGA support and RMA.

Maybe get a KFA card as a happy medium between the two?

The KFA2 is similarly priced to the 4GB EVGA I ordered and as such £20 more than the ASUS plus ideally, I want something to match my R4E and red Lian Li case. The KFA2's blue PCB puts me off.

Never say never.....

I think it'll all depend on how long you keep your cards for. If it's a long term thing with the intention to add another 2 for tri SLI, then i'd say the EVGA as you can then utilise the VRAM with 3 cards at 1080p MUCH later on, hopefully at a higher res.

However, if you plan to sell and buy a new card, then I'd keep the Asus.

How about MSI twin frozr?

If I was gaming at 2560x1440/1600, I'd be a bit more concerned about the VRAM but at 1920x1200, I can't see that VRAM ever being a problem and like I've always said, I'm more likely to be gpu limited before being vram limited. I don't think that has changed or will change in the foreseeable future. However, it does mean the 4GB will have better resale value whenever I decide to move on... I might just keep both :p

The point is though that the two I ordered are what I want and I got them at very good prices but it's just a question of which one will suit me better. The ASUS will match the rest of my rig, has PCIE connectors at the end to help cabling, features a pretty good PCB and runs quietly. The EVGA still looks pretty sleek and perhaps not as OTT, features 4GB Vram and thus will have better resale value. The only other gripe is the PCIE connectors at the middle of the card.

That's where my point about tri SLI comes in. With TRI SLI with 2gb cards, VRAM may be a limiting factor should you choose to change res or if a stupidly demanding game is released. However, with 4gb, at 1080p there's not enough GPU grunt to utilise the full 4, but when you have 3 GPU's, you are able to use the 4GB in some applications and games, and you won't be limited by VRAM.

Either way, I personally would get rid of the Asus because I am paranoid (quite rightly so!) abouit GPU failure and Asus are nothign on EVGA for CS

To my knowledge they are all 6+6 power, so not the for over clocking.

KFA2 EX OC and Gigabyte WindForce are both 8+6 and in my OC testing best overclockers by a good margin. :)
