The Darkness on PS3

Many will tell you it's a very good game, but it's also a very poor port on the PS3 (Although this isn't really an issue if you don't have access to the 360 version anyway).

Very poor is quite harsh. There are aliasing issues and framerate dips here and there, nothing game braking. Best way to decide for yourself is try the demo - the bit near the start in the graveyard is about as bad as the framerate ever gets so that'll give you an idea of whether it bothers you.

If you have a 360, get it on that, it is superior and no question about it. If your only choice is to get it on the PS3 though - don't be put off, it's still a great experience.

Fantastic game, The fact there's a better looking version on the 360 does not effect you unless you have one. In which case, purchase it on that. I don't see why it's been mentioned to be fair.

The game is fantastic on the PS3, Get it.

I'm near the end on it (PS3 version) and I think it's great, the narrative is superb, it's rare for me not to just want to skip past story bits, but I'm actually really interested in what's happening as the game progresses.
I've recommended it to everyone I know who'll listen.

Great game whatever the format, kept me playing for ages and one game i fully listened to the story line for once lol

Hmm, I've got it on the 360, I dont think its up to much at all.
It looks like nothing special, has an awkward control scheme (i think anyway) and its just..... well, not very interesting to play.

hi i have head nothing of this game as i have only recently had a ps3. loved assassins creed and am really enjoying dark sector so how will this game compare to those? should i be playing it??

thanks

It's better than both of those combined.
The Darkness was the best game released on PS3 last year for me as long as you can put up with the aliased graphics.

Ports / framerates / gameplay(brilliant) issues aside - pump up the volume on a surround system and enjoy the brilliantly voiced comments of The Darkness itself (by F.N.M's Mike Patton)

My 9 yr old stepson popped his head into my computer room once when I was playing this and just about **** himself. :D
