But the address do not give you any idea whats behind them... you dont know unless you look

I dont get the fascination with it if you have no use for the content out there and given you know the sort of content out there. Like, why browse if you know whats there but you are not looking to buy or download whatever is there?

Do you get a thrill out of possibly stumbling on something illegal or something?

I doubt there is anything that can be obtained through Tor that cant be obtained using a normal internet browser. The internet is big and all manner of people use it, you just have to know where to look. Plenty of websites offer drugs, guns and stuff. The vast majority are fake but there are most definitely some real ones out there. A lot of the drugs obtained by people i knew in my study days originated from big orders off the net.

Why did Armstrong go to the Moon?
Why did Hilary climb to the top of Everest?
Why did xl go on the deep web?

To see if he could and just because iits there ;)

(Footnote- I do not in any way compare myself to Mr Armstrong and Mr Hilary. Both great men) :D

The deep/dark web is so overrated. Over the past few years it's been really overhyped and spoken about like it's some forbidden mystical world from newspaper stories to YouTube vids and even a horror movie.
Reality is it's been around for years and is full of dead links and rubbish with websites looking like they are from the days of windows 98. lol at people who think they will get into trouble for accidentally clicking on a bad link paranoia is at an all time high

if you want a 'small taste' of the deepweb, goto TOR browser and use it's homepage search tool to look up 'hidden wiki' what you do from that point is completely up to you

The biggest surprise for me was how professional the drugs markets were with product reviews, buyer feedback and a complaints procedure.

I wonder about that.. so apparently you can buy stuff like credit card info from there, they have a massive database of these card numbers to the point that they offer a free replacement if the one they give you dosn't work but whats to say that it isn't just a big scam to steal bitcoin from you as I imagine you can't trace the seller or do just about anything about it?

And if you want a small taste of Tor, replace your modern computer with a 286 and bring your old dial-up modem out of the attic.
