The Dell 2707WFP has been released......and bloody hell it's expensive!
It's actually more than the 3007WFP!!!!

Does anyone know how much are OCUK going to do them for?

Dunno, but I really wish manufacturers would stop pushing out (a) value models of the same size and/or (b) larger models but of the same resolution. I have a 2407WFP here and the 2707WFP doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I agree that if you (as I do ) have a 2407 then its larger brother is unlikely to interest you - I dont actually have a problem with them releasing more , as this makes future models cheaper when they do come out.

Felt the same when the 22" panels started coming out with the same res as standard 20" ones

There is a "Sweet Spot" for all resolutions with regards panel sizes.
I still feel that on a 1280x1024 panel that the 17" ones looked the best.
I know that everything has moved towards the 19" panels (I've seen them for around £100+vat) but I just think the panel is that little too big.
The 22" panels don't seem to offer anything over the 20" panels - except once again a larger display with the same resolution.
24" is a nice point - and to be honest I've decided that is as large as I'd like to go with regards PC displays.

Don't get me wrong, the Dell 30" panel looks nice, high resolution etc.
However where I sit when I'm at the PC and taking everything else into consideration it would just be too big - I can see a 27" display being similar.
If I'll still feel the same in a couple of years time when I'm considering the replacement of my 24" panel I don't know.
Right now, if I was given a 30" panel I'd sell it, buy a 24" and spend the difference on other upgrades.

You say that, then you experience it and adjust your definition of 'sweet spot'! Right now I'd consider anything bigger than 30" to be excessive to most people's requirements (given that I currently have a combined resolution of 6320x1600 I think I'm in a position to say that!), but I have little doubt that screens will ultimately become wall-sized.

30" shines because of its 1600 pixel height and 0.25mm dot pitch; it's a sweet spot, just not so sweet on price. 24" 1920x1200 is significantly wider than a 17" monitor, but only 17% taller (in terms of resolution) than a 17" screen!
