Hello !!

Everywhere I look people are banging on about The Departed being Martin Scorsese's film blah blah blah...

But its just a re-make of Infernal Affairs isn't it ?
A cop on the inside Vs a bad due in the force.

Sounds like a rip off to me.

It is indeed a re-make of Infernal Affairs but was re-written to to suit the western auidence. I have seen the Infernal Affairs trilogy and I will be watching the departed to see if its any good.

I think my main beef is that not once in all the interviews/TV slots I have ever seen has it mentioned Infernal Affairs once.

Has anyone else seen IA credited at all ?

maybe they want people to judge the film on its own merit rather than judge it on being a re-make.

Hmmmmmm........ I see your point.

Or maybe just another case of America having no new ideas and wanting to make itself look good ?

I suppose thats true or it could be to allow the western audience to enjoy it as much as the people who watched the original. I'm gonna watch it with an open mind.

Some credit should be given to Infernal Affairs imo.

Also, in some of the reviews i've seen it has been descirbed as being loosely based on Infernal Affairs. This despite the fact that in the trailer alone there are several scenes lifted straight from Infernal Affairs.

Not sure if i'm gonna bother with The Departed, don't think it will get close to the original. Also, I just can't see the ending being the same as Infernal Affairs, will have to wait and see on that one.
