If anyone can help me with this I will be eternally grateful:
It happens when gaming and the symptoms are everything freezing as the cpu spikes for 2 or 3 seconds (during this time the sound is garbled), then everything will be back to normal for a further 2 or 3 seconds, and then back to freezing, then back to normal - rinse and repeat until the PC is rebooted. Sometimes I can game for hours or even days without it happening, other times it will kick in within seconds. Two Windows 7 installs and two Windows 8 installs have made no difference. Nothing is overclocked (i5 3570k and GTX670) and prime can run without errors for 24hrs. It's now at the point where I'm considering flogging the lot and starting again
