If anyone can help me with this I will be eternally grateful:

It happens when gaming and the symptoms are everything freezing as the cpu spikes for 2 or 3 seconds (during this time the sound is garbled), then everything will be back to normal for a further 2 or 3 seconds, and then back to freezing, then back to normal - rinse and repeat until the PC is rebooted. Sometimes I can game for hours or even days without it happening, other times it will kick in within seconds. Two Windows 7 installs and two Windows 8 installs have made no difference. Nothing is overclocked (i5 3570k and GTX670) and prime can run without errors for 24hrs. It's now at the point where I'm considering flogging the lot and starting again :mad:

Can you post up your ful system spec please, as this may help other members in helping you.
Does the problem occur with all games?
Are all your drivers up to date?

Sorry for late reply - I just got back from a short break.

Everything's up to date and the specs are:

Windows 8 Pro
i5-3570k
670 GTX Windforce
Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Intel Z77
Samsung 840 SSD
8gb Corsair low profile DDR3-1600

It seems to happen with all games, although as the issue sometimes takes a while to kick in it's hard to tell. I just loaded up Tomb Raider and it happened after 10 minutes. The last time I played Bioshock Infinite it the problem happened after 2 hours - the time before that, instantly when the game started. Sometimes it doesn't happen for days.

//edit

750w Corsair PSU

I just got 30 mins into Tomb Raider before it crapped out and started looping again!

As ExRayTed said, sounds a lot like gfx drivers are a potential cause (hopefully not hardware but you never know) as nvlddmkm is the display driver.

Try some older drivers and see how that works out - quite a few people have had issues with recent ones including me (though I'm on different hardware playing different games so not particularly relevant!)

Cheers for the suggestion. This has lasted the last three driver releases, tho - which shows how long I've been battling this. If the error was easily recreatable I'd rma the card in a second, but I suspect it would pass most tests thrown at it - especially if they just want to leave it looping heaven etc. Can't return it, can't sell it. Could be the PSU? Some odd issue with the mobo? I work in IT and troubleshoot PCs often - usually hardware is the easy stuff to fix. This is a right git.
