I'm looking into getting a Ducky DK9087 Shine 3 TKL the all yellow version, but I want to change the key caps to the side etched version. But i'm unsure on the different caps, the keyboard has PBT caps, but the ones I'm looking at are the ABS, is the only difference in the material they're made of, or am I missing something ? Also are all the caps suitable for the shine range or are they model specific, as on the website there are 2 set of caps that state shine ?

You want to change from PBT to ABS?

They will fit but the ABS caps will feel significantly different and get shiny.

Have you considered getting the yellow ducky with blank keycaps?

So after that response, going from PBT to ABS, is a step down in quality then ? I have looked at the blank caps, but I'm not that good a typer for that. The other ones are the PBT side etched, but they have been out of stock for a while.http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-036-DK&groupid=702&catid=2705&subcat=2455.

Will they work the same light wise, or would I have to get shine specific ones for that ?

You won't need shine specific ones, no. Just need to make sure that the ones you do buy have the same size + shape spacebar, enter key, tab key etc.

I have a ducky yellow and the keycaps are brilliant. I wouldn't want to change them, they make the keyboard in my opinion
