The Diplomat

I watched this because my other half wanted to, and it has Keri Rusell in :p Make no bones, it's like a **** version of the West Wing but I stuck with it, got more attuned to it's tone and it was an easy midweek watch. Won't be winning any awards, might get cancelled etc.

Enjoyed s2, with 6 episodes it felt more streamlined and pacing was great throughout, hopefully s3 gets 6 episodes again especially with how s2 ends and sets things up for s3 that has been confirmed already.

It gets better.

I was very skeptical too at first, as a huge fan of these sort political thrillers, but was pleasantly surprised as the apparent conspiracy unfolded.

I downloaded s2 straightaway and half way through it.

It's really well done, continues high standards set from season 1.

I understand what people are saying about the 6 episodes being tighter, but when you wait over a year for another series, and 3 nights and it's done, it seems a bit short. I don't actually understand why there is always such a long time between series. Lets says its 6 hrs in total. I guess that gets filmed over say a couple of months....Can someone controlling the money see that its obvious quality and green light another series quicker so that we get 2 series a year. Not a specific critisim of this programme, just a general observation from someone that feels like he spends infinitely more time waiting for series, than watching them.

Excellent stuff.

Apparently they are already filming series 3 so maybe it wont be as long before its on again this time.

Got one episode of Season 2 to go after the big reveal at the end of Ep5.

But not really feeling the love for it. Rufus Sewell's mock American accent is awful and now and again just slips back into his normal British route. Too much doors opening and people, usually irritating like the diminutive CIA woman, running in and out.
The main character is still not really that believable with her hair that looks like it was dragged through a hedge backwards and scruffy clothes.

Thought this was fantastic, nice twist at the end of the season to allow the next series to potential have an entirely different dynamic.

I appreciate that a lot more details and thought has gone into the plot linea than is often the case these days. It has consistently managed to leave me wondering about the motives of just about everyone, with the various bends in the plot not at all obvious.

nice to see CJ Craig again...reminds me it's nearly time to start watching the west wing from the start again...although with the Trump getting in today, it might just depress me more
