The Diplomat

Just watched the first 3 episodes of this series, and it's continued it's great level. The quick fire banter, the twists in the storline and the odd surreal happening for comedic effect reminded me so much of the west wing, that I looked it up on IMDB and 2 of the producers and 3 of the writers worked on WW over several years. It is very much scratching my long festering WW itch.

So CJ appearing in it is not so surprising
and josh showing up as CJ's husband !


Clearly the writers are making out the president is trump-esk, with his love of coke and trashy food

The last 5 episodes are going to whizz by all too quickly.

Great season finale, setting it up nicely for a 4th season, which has already been confirmed and starts filming in November.

Yep, finished S3 last night. Although the story backdrop is all a bit silly, it does have some pretty good emotional acting.
 
Finished s3, didn't expect some of the twists that came throughout at the start and felt like they'd ramped up the fast pace nature of the show, with how s3 ended (wasn't that much of a surprise) looking forward to s4
 
We've just started watching this having seen this thread. It's actually pretty decent. I wasn't sure as the girl in it was in The Americans which I found complete bobbins.

Wow, this latest season was fantastic. The first 2 episodes were heavy on relationship stuff and I thought the program had lost it's way. But after that the whole international diplomacy and white-house infighting really takes off, with massive twists along the way. This has clearly been influenced by the recent administration, with the pres heading off in a direction that many don't want to follow.

And the last episode ends in such a cliff hanger, I'm in panic that it hasn't yet been confirmed for another season.

This is the 2020s re-incarnation of the west wing, many of the same writers, and the director is also from there.

Top Top notch political drama.
