The Dissertation/FYP thread 2008

All your dissertations sound scary as hell, isn't there anyone else doing Humanities? I'm doing American Studies (*cough* oxymoron *cough*) but I basically do Literature and Film Studies with a bit of history and politics sprinkled in when I can't avoid it.

I've just finished going over my dissertation for the third time and I think it's pretty much done now, I just have or two things to look at tomorrow. It's due in on the 8th May so I have some time yet.

Mine is: "Genderqueer Fiction: Subverting Gender in Contemporary American Fiction." supposed to be between 10 and 12k and I've done just over 11k so I still have a bit to play with if I tweak it any more.

I have just removed loads of stuff out to the appendix and added text boxes for some words that does not count in the word count for mine, hehe.

Sure you can find ways to clip the work down, try not to quote references and stuff, might help.
Luckiyl we dont have a word limit, although that doesnt really matter to me, since its in thurs and iv barely got any written work so far, though my practical part is 95% complete as of 5mins ago :D

Pho, plan on breaking a record or something? If you dont get a first dude you need a slap. :p

I hope I do, let's just hope I've wrote the right things :D.

:eek::eek::eek:
39k and you're not even finished?!

Our final module is worth 4 modules (40 credit points, meant to take 400 hours) which may be why :).

Check your student handbook :p

What's yours in?

Tracking the location of school buses and children using via GPS and displaying them with Google Maps, basically.

39K :eek: how have you managed to write that much ???!!!

my distro for my BSc CS only have around 9K :p
