Yup, I got a few pages still left to write for my diss. So close to the end, but can't bare to open the doc again... No idea how im going to get motivation for the exams coming up.

It's not my FYP that's the problem, it's the other module essays they gave us around the same time. I completed FYP in the main a few weeks ago though, in case I got to the stage where I couldn't bear it any more. Just got some minor changes to do now though, it's actually a nice break to go back to something I had some enthusiasm for!

yeah i handed my project in a couple of weeks ago and was not happy with it at all. i think that is kind of why i cant be arsed now, cos putting loads of effort in to the exams is not going to make much difference in the end :(

i normally HATE exams/revising etc but usually get it done and to a decent level. passing them is usually no problem and ive been averaging about 60% up to now, but this time, ive just been sitting around doing bugger all and cannot get myself started :(

1 more assignment to hand in tomorrow by 4pm, presentation on wednesday and then another presentation next week and I am 100% done!

Trying to get my presentation on wednesday moved back due to what I think is tonsillitis, gotta go doctors tomorrow morning!

Glad its nearly all over though, uni's good at the start but its just time to move on now really and find a job somewhere!

tbh i think they would find it hilarious if you get one of those neon signs where you can type in the message and it displays it in flashing lights :D

Heading off to print my project on the colour laser tonight in case it's busy/broken in morning... Figured there's not a lot else I can do to it now. Unless I stayed awake all night, but I don't think that would improve it!

My mum's been proof reading repeatedly for the past few days! It's been almost finished for about a week, just some minor changes went in today and yesterday.

I don't think reading it myself would help, I really am getting bored of looking at it!

I printed mine off three times last week by accident! :o

We have covers to put on our dissertation with a window for where our name, course, project etc is meant to be visible on the front page. I screwed up the layout and went to print another copy of the page. Managed to print out one more copy of the whole report rather than page one again. :D

Went into debt by £4.05 on my printer credit account.

I'm probably going to get stung for about 8p per page in colour for 63 pages, twice.

Lucky they give us £16 credit to start with :)

8p?! We have to pay 40p on the Uni printers for colour pages on A4.

Which is why my dissertation was done in black and white only. If I had done the pages that needed to be in colour in colour I would have added £20 to my printing bill for two copies. We got £10 I think when we started but we'd already have used that up ages ago.

we to print it ourselves then carry the two copies down the campus to the students' union print shop and get them to bind it for us.

Hehe dont mistake incompetance for smugness :D
The caged monkeys they employ in our uni managed to bind it the wrong way last time as i handed my submission form (they have a pre-set form for each project) upside down to them while i put my student card in to get scanned

I just thought i would avoid the whole issue this time around

We have to hand ours in unbound.

It better not be 40p! The colour printer is only for Masters students, doesn't get used by the plebs, so don't see them charging too much.

Woah I just checked the cost of hard binding... £42 each and we got to bind two copies. I hope they are ok with just soft binding really can't be bothered to pay that much for hard...

£42?! What to make it into a proper book?

http://www.ncl.ac.uk/bindery/thprice.html I did quote the same day price though.. However mines due in 4 days and I doubt I can give them much advance.

What is a Hard Binding? A hard binding is used for final submission and conforms exactly to the University requirements. It is a thread sewn binding with a 2.5mm thick board covered in washable library buckram for durability with gold lettering added where required. Beware of cheaper imitations that may have paper "cloth effect" covers which do not have the long term durability and may not be sewn.

I guess soft binding is enough and hard binding will only really be necessary for Phd thesis work.
